Nice idea that needs work May 13, 2010

I Bought this hat because light and other visual distractions often keep my four-month-old from settling down and taking a nap. I thought this would be the perfect solution because it would shield baby's eyes (sort of like a sleep mask) without the possibility that it could slip down over nose and mouth. Well...it doesn't slip down, but the hat is sort of bell shaped and has a very loose hem, so even with the eye flap down, it allows a lot of light in and does very little to keep busy eyes from wandering around. It's also made using two layers of jersey knit fabric that will not work for warmer months.

I wanted to love it. Maybe with a few design revisions, I could.

I bought this cap for my 4.5 month old. I took in the other reviewers remark about it being like a bell but felt that the cap was cute enough (and organic!) to give it a try. I must say that I really like and while it doesn't block out light, it does the trick. The only thing I don't like about it is that it moves when my daughter moves her head when laying down but I just pull it down a little more. There is another sleep cap but I didn't really like the design and it wasn't as cute. I'm going to buy another one now so that I can always have one on hand.

I searched for weeks for something like a baby eye mask as my daughter was unable to fall asleep during the daytime without something covering her eyes. It's like she couldn't shut out the stimuli. I ordered this hat and have been very very happy. She doesn't always allow me to put it on her, but when she does she sleeps really well and peacefully during the day!

Perfect!
