My picky baby liked it! Nov 08, 2011
By Sabrina S I have a 3-month-old daughter who would not take a bottle. I returned to work when she was 8 weeks old, and although she had taken a couple of bottles from her dad during the first eight weeks, she suddenly refused the bottle altogether when I was not around. Our caregiver tried different temperatures, and we tried all kinds of different bottles -- Avent, Playtex, Nuk. We were finally able to trick her into taking the First Years Breastflow bottle by giving it to her while she was sleeping. Our caregiver would wait until she fell asleep, then take her pacifier out of her mouth and replace it with the bottle. This worked ok with the Breastflow bottle, unless baby woke up. Then screaming ensued.
Enter the Yoomi bottle. I purchased this bottle after reading a blog article called Best Bottles for Breastfed Babies. I suspected that the temperature of the breastmilk was part of the reason baby would not take her bottle, and I also liked that the nipple design of the Yoomi bottle closely mimics the breast. It's definitely a pricier bottle, but consider that you are getting the bottle and the warmer. You can't buy a bottle warmer for under twenty dollars, so the Yoomi bottle plus warmer is really rather reasonable.
The Yoomi bottle has a honeycomb heating element that works almost magically. You simply place the heating element in boiling water for 25 minutes (I just put it in while I am sterilizing the bottle and my pump parts in the morning). The Yoomi warmer has a button that turns blue when the warmer is fully "charged." You then need to let the warmer cool for 75 minutes prior to using it. But when you are ready to use it, you just press the button and start feeding baby. As the milk passes over the warmer, the warmer heats the milk exactly to body temperature. Amazing!
I was still skeptical as to whether my picky baby would actually take this bottle, but she did! She drank the entire bottle (wide awake, no less) without incident. As any mom of a picky baby knows, this is such a relief for me. It's great to be able to go through my work day without worrying about whether baby is going to take her bottle or if she will be screaming for her caregiver all day. Thanks, Yoomi, for this amazing bottle! We love it!
***UPDATE 12/19/2011***
I forgot to mention previously that the Yoomi warmer has to be replaced after 100 uses or 3 months. Well, you will be lucky if it lasts 3 months. Mine gave out after not quite 2 months, and we only used it three times per week (once per day, three weekdays per week). I was pretty disappointed that it went out that quickly. It would cost me another $24.95, plus $9.99 shipping to order a new warmer. I can't really justify that to get maybe 10-15 uses out of it. So we're back on the hunt for another bottle our picky baby will accept. *sigh*

Leaky bottle Jan 31, 2012
By K&E I am so disapointed with this bottle, when we just got it , it used to work just fine with the warmer in it, but as when you use it without the warmer you get milk everywhere! My baby loves the nipple in the Yoomi but half the milk leaks out while she is drinking, so much that we have to change her clothes when she is done. I emailed Yoomi and the said that they think that the problem was that I was putting the teat on too tight, but I tried what they saud and the problem is still there.........any ideas?
Perfect for out and about or for travel May 16, 2012
By J Reimche I received this bottle as a gift and at first thought it was just gimmicky, but my little one loves it and now I own several and always give them as gifts. I found it especially useful when my little one was really little and I needed to be out with him- no need to worry about warming the milk or making a hungry baby wait 20 mins for the milk to heat in a water bath, just activate the Yoomi and the milk is perfect:)
Perfect for my breastfed boy! May 16, 2012

My son is an amazing nurser & I was worried that introducing a bottle for the occasional feeding he would need while we worked with our full time wedding photography business. We introduced at 3 weeks with a playtex nurser & he took it ok. Then he didn't like it anymore. I was panicking trying to find a bottle he would like & take while we were away. I googled "best bottle for breastfed baby" & got a blog that did a review on several bottles & the Yoomi was suggested. I went & check it out. I was already aware that my son was particular about the temperature & my husband & I even said to ourselves, "Why has no made made an insulated bottle or something?!"... and then I looked into the Yoomi & thought... THESE PEOPLE ARE GENIUS! So I ordered immediately & had 100% success with my son! He takes his feedings while we are away perfectly & has no problem going back & forth between bottle & breast! The warmer is genius & I have 5 of them so that when we are away, our sitter never has to charge them. I highly recommend this bottle for all moms... especially ones going between bottle & breast! It's the only teet my lil guy will take! We love Yoomi in our household!
Warms milk fast enough to prevent crying! Mar 15, 2012
By Sandra Matsunaga I LOVE the Yoomi! I am not a fan of nursing in public (although I support our right to do so, it personally makes me uncomfortable) so I was looking for something to warm breastmilk for those longer outings. All the other warmers out there seem to take around 4 minutes to warm the milk and anyone who has ever been around a hungry baby knows that 4 minutes can seem like a lifetime. So I decided to try this based on the short warming time (60 seconds). It sounded rather complicated to get the Yoomi ready, but once you've done it you see it's actually straightforward. You just boil the charger for 25-30 minutes (we need to do it for 30) and then it's "charged" and will retain the charge indefinitely. You can store it in the cupboard or even attached to the bottle of milk in the fridge! It's so awesome. As for the leaking or trouble feeding that other users mentioned, I haven't had any of those problems. I would definitely be upset if I lost some of my precious breastmilk, but thankfully we haven't had any issues. She doesn't drool the milk out of the corner of her mouth when feeding and the bottle has never leaked for us. It seems like it has a really tight seal and we pack it in the diaper bag when we go, so it gets bounced around, tipped and tilted and we haven't lost a drop of milk yet! :)
Overall I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who likes going out with a baby. It is the fastest way to warm milk for your little one and it makes things so much easier.
