 Great crib-- Amazing customer service! Aug 16, 2011

I did not purchase this from Amazon but wanted to share my thoughts on this crib and more importantly the company that makes is. Two years ago, I purchased this from a furniture store in our area. The service was mediocre at best and when they delivered the crib, they told my husband and me that all of the parts needed to convert the crib to a toddler bed/day bed were in boxes which they placed in our basement. Fast forward two years-- we go to convert the crib to a toddler bed and the toddler rails are not there. The store we purchased the crib from is now out of business, so I figured that I would have to purchase the rails, etc.
I called Westwood Baby this morning and they are mailing the rails, support feet, etc to us free of charge. Not only is this an amazing crib-- high quality, beautiful worksmanship, sturdy, and most importantly safe, but the customer service provided by Westwood is excellent. I never expected them to send me the parts at no cost-- it certainly wasn't their fault that the furniture store didn't supply all of the parts (or our fault that we didn't check everything out at the time) and I was expecting and perfectly willing to pay for the parts we were missing. I was shocked at the amazing customer service and just wanted to share my experience.
Again, the crib is wonderful-- looks brand new, great quality wood, beautiful color-- not too dark-- not too light (we have the Virginia Cherry finish) and the customer service provided by Westwood is beyond amazing!

The crib was everything I expected. After much research my husband and I decided we liked the Westwood Stratton crib the best. The company gets great remarks from BabyBargin and other resources for quality at a reasonable price. We even went to a local store to see it before we purchased. The crib required some assembly but nothing my husband and father-in-law couldn't handle - it took them about 1 hour to assemble. The crib arrived in perfect condition with all the parts and is very solid and heavy. You do have to be home to receive the purchase, but the shipping company provided a 2 hour window and then a 30 minute courtesy call so I could quickly run home from work.
Where I was really impressed with this purchase was the service I received from Amazon.com. The furniture was delivered in 1.5 weeks vs the 8 weeks our local store quoted me. With no sales tax and free shipping it started out less than the store would have cost me as well. When the crib went on sale the day after I purchased it, Amazon credited my card! We got such a great deal on a truely lovely crib. Now I just have to wait for baby to arrive to put it to use :)

Crib was easy to set up and VERY STURDY once put together. The only down side was that there a couple of scratches on the product when we got it. Since they were on the back side (thankfully) we didn't worry too much about it. Height of crib is a little taller (but that works great for my husband and I as we are 5'8" and 6'8").
As far as ordering from Amazon, very easy, best price we found compared to area furniture stores that also carried the same product. Very elegant.
