5Good cup  Jun 09, 2011
By Rian
Pros:
-works well for sippy cup, trainer cup, open cup
-easy to hold with two handles
-nice size
-nice color (blue)
-bpa free
-multi-use

Cons:
-blue of handles and sippy spout discolors with carrots etc
-air hole on trainer lid is a little small and gets clogged with milk, preventing milk to get out of drinking holes
-anti-spill on sippy cup makes the toddler have to suck pretty hard, but it's not too bad

Summary:
would recommend to others, just drill out air hole a little bigger. We used it a lot with our 16-19 month old, who now drinks from a regular cup.

5Awesome product for introducing an open cup to little ones!  Feb 04, 2012
By Busy working Mom
Around 10 months old, my son suddenly began to refuse his bottle. He similarly screamed and pushed away anything resembling a bottle nipple, straw, or nozzle of a sippy cup. We tried everything, concerned that he was getting dehydrated during the hot summer days. Finally we found the Vital Baby cup. While the stage 2 lid is designed for older toddlers, it was our salvation. It was a bit messy at first, but over time he got the hang of it and transitioned from us helping him with it to using it independently. It is so wonderful now that we have a toddler capable of using an open cup! The design is excellent so the lid always screws on so that the handles are positioned correctly for the opening in the lid. The Stage 2 lid reminds me of a disposable coffee cup, with two small open slots. We actually tried these kind of cups with my son later when we were traveling, but found that the plastic lids were too flexible - he just bit down on them and basically closed off the holes. This is a wonderful product for babies who don't respond well to sippy cups or older toddlers learning to use an open cup!

2The good and the bad.  Mar 11, 2011
By Susan Bailey
Though this cup didn't fit my need, it did work well in other areas. My toddler has to drink from the rim of an open cup before moving to the 3 year old preschool class. I was hoping this cup would help in teaching this skill. It didn't. As a sippy cup,it works as well as most and has some good features. The lid seems to go on so that the spout is always in the right spot and I like the spout cover. The problem is with the lid that simulates drinking from the rim. The holes are too far from the rim. The liquid pours into the lid instead of the toddler's mouth. He sips some, but most just spills out, around his mouth. I gave it two stars because it does function as a sippy, but there are many sippy cups that are less expensive. The trainer option did not work for us at all.

2Not up to usual Vital Baby standards.  Nov 26, 2011
By d.uccello
I have purchased several other Vital Baby items and have been very happy with all of them, but this cup is quite the exception.
On the cup I received the screw lid does not align with the handles. This means the spout is not perpendicular to the handles but instead screws tight close to a handle. All of the lids seem flimsy. The worst is the snap seal lid which does not attach properly allowing it to come off with the slightest jostle, such as placing it in a travel bag.
I can't speak to the function of the cup as a trainer because it didn't pass the "just out of the package" dry run, so I never put it into use. This cup seems like the right idea but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. It is just not up to usual Vital Baby standards.
