5Great diaper cover and most bang for your buck  Aug 30, 2010
By SunShine
I'm new to cloth diapering and have decided to do the good old fashioned prefold method. So when I had to get the covers, I purchased a couple of each of the most popular brands, only going based on other people's reviews. I absolutely love these Thirsties. I have Imse Vimse, Little Beetle, Bumkins, and Kissaluv Wool covers along with the Thirsties. So far, these are the only covers that are true to size and actually fit my daughter when she was a newborn. My girl was 7lbs2oz when born and these covers were perfect for that time when you have to be careful of the umbilical cord. I purchased newborn sizes in other brands and they were huge. The thirsties fit right below her belly button to keep from rubbing up against it. I haven't had any leaks or blow outs in these either, even with the explosive BM's that newborns have in the first few months. Even when the prefold has been completely soaked, the cover has held up great. The leg gussets are also a plus in preventing leaks. I'll be purchasing more of these, especially since they're so inexpensive.

Update after 6 months of use:
These are still great economical covers, but they definitely don't go up to 18lbs. My daughter is now 15lbs and is in the 50th percentile for weight and height, and she has just outgrown these. But I must say that that isn't bad considering all of these sizes are approximate and most of the other covers I've been using hasn't been even close to their size ranges. She could still wear them just fine, but I've moved up in size in her prefold due to blowouts for every BM she had, and the cover doesn't fit with it. Still a great cover. I'll just need to get the next size up. But to use a cover, literally from birth to 6 months, is not bad for the price.

5excellent cloth diaper option  Jun 27, 2010
By mamasmiles
I've been CD-ing for three years, and I wish I'd started using these wrap snap covers earlier! I started out with pocket diapers because I thought they would be easier, but I have now changed my mind. I use tri-fold inserts with these. They don't leak unless the soaker is absolutely saturated, and I love that I am not spending time stuffing pockets any more. I'm also thrilled to have completely velcro-free multi-size covers, and these fit both my 10mo and my tall 2yo beautifully.

4Does the job  Jul 20, 2010

I have not used many diaper covers before, mostly just GroBaby (GroVia) or Thirsties. This is my first Thirsties in a snap and I do like it much more than the aplix. The aplix (Velcro) tended to irritate my daughter's skin, no good! So this solves that problem. However, this was the first size 2 of the duos that we tried, she just reached 16 lbs and was on the limit with her size 1. I have to say that the size 2 is much much bigger than the size 1. So right now it just seems huge on her. Maybe after awhile she will grow into it though. The only other small gripe is that the snaps around the waist are in a row, which means when you are putting it on you have to plan ahead a little on the fit. Other types that I have seen have them stacked vertically, which eliminates this problem. However, most of the others that I am comparing it to are much more expensive. I like the print a lot and I have never had a blowout in any thirsties covers, so I think they are really good for the price and function. Could be improved on though.

ps We just trifold a prefold in them and this works great.

5Great buy  Dec 18, 2010
By Pcats
I bought these cloth diaper covers to go with my Clotheez prefolds. I wanted the obvious benefits (environment, save money, potty train faster...) of cloth diapering but I was a bit apprehensive at first. I did alot of research on diaper covers before buying these covers. They fit my three criteria of having Snap covers, leg gussets (must have), and being adjustable. After having these for almost 3 months they have saved our furniture and our clothing from a lot of possible stains. I have also tried disposables that could not beat out these covers blow out protection. They do have a tag in the back that needs to be tucked in (you can cut it off though...) My mom bought 3 white colored covers that stain a little around the legs but seem to fade out after a few washes. The blue color cover that I purchased on my own has 0 stains on it. I love these covers so much however that I'm buying the 2nd size so that I can be ready when my son is big enough to wear them!
Suggestion : BUY COLORS! Part of the fun is that you can dress your baby in something different.
