Not as good as the originals! Nov 12, 2009
By Victoria Satterfield First, let me start by saying "I love Thirsties." We tried many different covers while my son was a newborn (Bummis, Litewrap, DiaperWrap, Proraps, the list goes on...) and Thirsties were by far the best. That said, you can imagine how excited I was when they came out with Duos! I bought one in each boy-friendly color in size 2 instead of transitioning to Medium original Thirsties. Big mistake! These are not the same quality as the originals AT ALL. I think the inner laminate must be made of slightly different material or something because it simply doesn't hold up in the wash! After only two cycles, the waterproof coating began to peel off and crack. I am a cloth diapering addict and am VERY careful about how I wash my dipes and covers. I always line dry them and treat them very gently so I know I didn't do anything wrong to cause this. As a result of the peeling, urine sometimes gets wicked through to the outside cover. For now, the covers are still useable. Even when the urine soaks through a little, not enough gets through to cause any dampness to my son's clothes. However, it means I have to wash the covers more - which is worriesome considering how they're already having problems holding up. I'm so disappointed! I thought these were going to save us money in the long run. Now I'm probably going to need to go back to the original Thirsties and write these off as a loss.

Trimmer fit than the original Thirsties but runs small Jul 15, 2009
By L. M. Van de Merghel I have to say that I LOVE the original Thirsties diaper covers, they are amazing. When I saw that the Thirsties Duo Wrap came out I thought I would give them a try because of the wide size range. I purchased 2 covers and have been using them for the last week. We haven't had any leaks so far. Compared to the size small Thirsties the Duo Wrap is smaller. My 12 lb. baby girl wears these covers at the largest setting (no snaps are snapped) and I don't think they are going to take her to 18 lbs. The trimmer fit makes them a great day time diaper, but not as good as an overnight diaper. Overall I think they are great and I would recommend them for daytime use.

fits good for a day cover. Nov 03, 2009
By Mandy B. My baby is a big baby so I figured these would save $. They do fit great. I have always liked Thirsties because they have the leg gussets and come in cute colors. However these particular ones, the duo wrap, are a different material from the other Thirsties we have and tend to leak through the material and the trim material gives my baby a little redness if he wears them too long. They are not good overnight covers. They work just fine for a few hours during the day.

Better than the originals to me! Sep 15, 2010
By M. M. Hartley Like many reviewers, I've tried both the duos and the original covers. Originally, I was scared of buying the duos because of a few prominent, negative reviews. So I started out on the originals. I so regret that. The duos have worked great for us! In fact, they've worked better than originals. Consider that plus the increased size-range/length of use per cover--which translates into savings and fewer resources wasted--and you can see how foolish it is to not try these!
What really makes me prefer the duos over the originals (besides the obvious savings) is how customizable they are. That's what allows you to get a truly great fit--both snug and leak proof, while being comfortable for baby and "growing" with them. The easy customization is also useful for accommodating the varying sizes/thickness of different prefolds, ways of folding, and for diaper-doubling. I don't think the sizes runs small. To me, the sizes of the originals run small. My son outgrew the those very quickly. He was over 20 pounds at 4 months, but these fit him wonderfully and continue to as he grows. If my son outgrows these before he hits 40 pounds, I'll let you all know.
I don't think, as has been implied, that they're made from a different and inferior material than the originals. They have snaps and are cut a bit differently. That's it. I'm pretty sure they're cut from the same cloth. I've washed my covers a fair bit since I got them (I only bought three, so they see a lot of action), and they've held up very well. They honestly still look brand new. And I accidentally threw one of my covers in the dryer once! There's been no peeling-issues like another reviewer suggested; I'm assuming what she got was probably defective. And I haven't had any leaks with mine. Like with the original covers, the piping at the leg openings and top sometimes wick moisture. That moisture dries quick if you air your covers between changes. If you're having leaks with ANY sort of diaper or cover, than perhaps you should try changing them more often. Works for me--we only have leaks when my son has no diaper on (pardon the digression).
So why didn't I give this 5 stars? The snaps can come open easily when I putting it on tightly, but that's a very minor issue in my opinion. Also, they're a bit pricey in my opinion. Yes, buying these is cheaper than buying the originals or disposable diapers. And they're about average price compared to other PUL covers. But these were still worth the price to me, but if they were 2 or 3 dollars cheaper I'd rate them higher and buy at least two more (for now I'm happy rotating my three and using other cover options).

Design GENIUS, quality failure Feb 28, 2010
By Rainy_day_9 I have been a long time fan of thirsties. I have the old fitted diapers with snaps. I have had those diapers for 6 years and they work better now then the day I bought them. I have every size of unbleached prefolds that your company made and love them so much I could never buy any others. I have never had anything but great things to say about your company and your products.
But I have to say that the new thirsties duo wrap is a travesty in product quality. I have been cloth diapering for 10 years now. I have some wraps that I have been able to use for 8 years because I know exactly how to wash/dry wraps in order to have them last a long time. The duo wrap is shoddily made. It is obviously thrown together in the fastest way possible. The DESIGN is wonderful, the execution is horrible. The unfinished pocket in the front would be fine if it was done like bumkins- with some care, not just a raw piece of fabric. The lamination is horrible. I have had 8 wraps that I have used and treated well for just two weeks and they all smell horrible and leak because the fabric is barely water resistant, let alone capable of keeping in leaks. Thirsties has sacrificed quality, even if the design is wonderful, it is useless to have a great design when you execute the design in the cheapest and fastest way possible and sacrifice the quality of the end result. I feel cheated. I spent over $100 on your products and now that money is essentially flushed down the drain since I will now have to buy wraps to replace the ones I bought from you that have failed me.
