Description:

From womb...to Woombie! Cocoon swaddling with the Woombie is different from other swaddling methods and garments because it is made of a unique 4way stretch fabric which gently swaddles, snuggles and softly compresses the baby to mimic the womb, quickly re-conforming after baby finishes stretching arms and legs. The Woombie does not unravel as other methods do because of its flexible 4way stretch fabric and easy in/out zipper. This helps maintain the comfort levels of both baby and parent, easing undue stress and promoting a more peaceful environment, which is greatly needed and appreciated during the first few months of life during transition from the womb.

Features:
  • cocooning imitates the womb, promoting comfort and security

  • helps prevent the startle reflex by reducing sudden arm movements

  • assists baby's transition from womb

  • No more worry of blankets unraveling which can lead to potential blanket suffocation

  • 95% organic cotton, 5% spandex

3Great idea but covers babys mouth and tore up her face :(  Aug 02, 2010
By Bowie
I bought the vanilla colored organic woombie for my newborn who was just under 7lbs at birth and now she is about 10lbs. I was eager to try the woombie soon as we brought her home even though she wasn't really having any sleep problems I just wanted to get her used to using it. Well once I first put it on I was a little concerned because the collar of the woombie came up so high that it partially covered her mouth which made me concerned that it might obstruct her breathing possibly and then she also would suck on the collar if it made it into her mouth. I really didn't like having to worry about any of this. So I figured i would just keep a close eye on her and try it out for a night. Well I did check on her all night and she did seem very cozy and content I must say. Thr collar stayed up in her face and was worst when she had her head facing frontward. I don't know why they would make it come so high when everyone knows that's part of your worries with a newborn and making them sleep on the back so try don't smother. Anyway.. After that first night, i woke up to another problem- the velcrow tab that goes across to cover the zipper came undone and the tab was left free and it must have rubbed her cheek raw cause she had a big scab and blood smeared all over the collar of the darned woombie. I felt SO bad! I had to tell everyone what happened to her andfel like a bad mom csuse I have this tin newborn with a big bloody wound on her little cheek. Putting velcrow was a very stupid idea. If it had a button or snap it would be perfect. So those are my two complaints... It comes up too high on the face (can cover mouth completely depending on babys head position) and velcrow comes undone easily because this happened the very first time we used it brand new. My baby was 20 inches also I might add so it's not because she was too short that the woombie came too high in her face. So I gave up on thr woombie these last two weeks and just decided i'd try it once she grew a little more so today I tried it again and it's still comig up high in her face just as bad and causing the same problems. So it's basically useless to me and a waste of money because I cannot use it :( I think with some changes this could be a really great product though. Email me if you have any questions! I'd be happy to respond.

2Disappointed...scratched baby & hole  May 10, 2010
By S.A.B.
I was very excited to try this new swaddle. My 2 month old immediately calmed down when I snuggled him up in it and slept four hours straight (I was thrilled). When I took the garment off in the morning I noticed dried blood on the top of the swaddle and his chin was scratched in many places. I think it might have been from the Velcro fastener that covers the zipper and as he moved his head the Velcro rubbed against his chin, making cuts. There was also a hole on the seam. I was disappointed... I would be willing to try another Woombie that has a snap instead of the Velcro fastener though.

5Love woombie!  Jul 22, 2011
By H. Sauceda
Our baby happily gets zipped into her woombie each night and can squirm and stretch yet not enough to wake herself up. In the big baby size she can even suck on her hand through the fabric which soothes her. I highly recommend this product!

4works beautifully for overtired baby  Jul 14, 2011
By Karin
We purchased the woombie for our six week old girl. She manages to wriggle her arms out of a blanket swaddle (muslin and other tighter-weaved blankets) about 80% of the time and no such thing happens with the woombie! However, we only use it when we're desperate for her to sleep because being zipped up in the woombie seems to freak her out at first and sometimes she won't calm down which only makes the situation worse. However, when she does calm down once zipped in, she sleeps like the dead and for a long time; to the extent that I've actually had to rouse her mid-sleep to nurse for a bit.

3Good product, just not for us  Jul 12, 2011
By Jennifer A. Bensen "J. Bensen"
My son hates to be swaddled, but he is constantly flailing his arms when trying to sleep and waking himself up. I purchased this product after reading a review about it on a different website and thought it would solve my swaddling woes. The Woombie is soft, easy to use, and made well; however, he still cries for an extended amount of time while in the Woombie. I even incorporate the "5 S's" and he's still a fussy little guy. I like this product, but my son does not and screams until I take him out. It is a good product, but just not for all babies.
