Genius! Feb 26, 2010
By kristeva Lactation consultants told me that the best feeding pillow was My Breast Friend, but I wanted to be a "green" mom and avoid foam and choose as many organic products for my first baby as I could. This Nesting Pillow was the only one out there I could find, so I happily purchased it directly from the manufacturer.
I have to say, this pillow is soooo much more than just a feeding pillow. I bought this several months before my son was born, and little did I know then that he would have acid reflux and spit up almost constantly, and would also be a "high-needs" baby who wanted to fall asleep breastfeeding and they stay in that position in my arms practically aaaallll day.
Since the nesting pillow has a "Bean Bag" feel, my son's body alignment was relaxed while he slept in my arms, allowing me to relax my arms and back without stressing about his comfort.
Then, because of the bean bag effect, I could manipulate the shape of the pillow into a wedge/inclined pillow so that when I wanted to (try to) set him down to sleep, his acid reflux wouldn't come up and wake him.
I still needed to get him medication for the reflux, but not having to buy another wedge pillow saved money, plus those wedge pillows made of foam were rather stiff, whereas the Nesting Pillow has "give" and will conform more to your baby's body.
When my son outgrew his reflux, we set it aside for a while, and sometimes I'd use it as my own pillow on the sofa.
Then, when he was 5.5 months old and just starting to sit up, I shaped the Nesting Pillow into a "fortune cookie" shape around his lower back to help prop him up while he practiced sitting up. It was so awesome!
Now that he is 6.5 months old and can totally sit up, I found that he loves to just sit on top of it, because he still can get "wobbly" when sitting in his playard or our sofa, but when I sit him on top of the Nesting Pillow, he gets a super secure feel, almost like sitting in the sand on the beach. He went from having a concerned look on his face as he tried to balance while playing with some toys, to giving me a grin and happily focusing on his hands and toys when he was placed on the Nesting Pillow.
Just a warning: although the picture of the pillow shows it as a half-moon shape, in reality the pillow is more floppy than you'd expect, but that it exactly what makes the Nesting Pillow such genius!
When first using it to breastfeed, it took me a little bit of practice grabbing the floppy pillow with one hand and getting it under the baby real quick before he latched on, but that was the only slight challenge.
This is really a wonderful wonderful baby product!!!! It's pure genius!!!!

beats the boppy but has room for improvement Sep 24, 2010
By E. Willis I was hesitant to purchase this pillow because of the cost but my boppy has been through three kids and was in bad shape so I started looking for a more natural alternative and found this. The quality is very, very good. It's made in the us and the workmanship is great, I can see it standing up to years and years of use. My only issue with the construction was the tag, it is a flat square tag sewn on to the top of the pillow, right where the baby's head rests. It only took a minute to get it off with a seam ripper but it would have been nice for it to be in another location.
Using the pillow is comfortable but there is a learning curve to it. I couldn't stand the pillow for the first few weeks but have now gotten the hang of it. At first the filling always seemed to shift away from me, leaving a gap between me and the pillow that couldn't be fixed without stopping nursing and rearranging everything. Now I have to remember to shift the filling towards me to before I start. I'm not sure if my pillow doesn't have enough filling but it seems like it could really benefit from more. I have to take a solid minute to arrange the filling before I start nursing and with all the filling at one end of the pillow the other side is totally flat so there is nowhere to rest my other arm. More filling would make this a five star product.

Best baby gift! Feb 22, 2009
By M. Hanson OK, I have two nesting pillows and I can honestly say that they are the most used baby items I own. My son is now 19 months old and we still use it everyday! When he was born I used it to nurse him comfortably but we still used it when we switched to bottles. My husband was so nervous about holding him when he was born but using the nesting pillow while feeding him gave him the confidence he needed. Now my son uses it to lay on when we change his diaper and he sleeps with it when he has a cold because it props his head up comfortably. If my husband or I are sitting on the floor and we want to lay our heads on it our son pushes us off "his pillow". Even though we have two I think we'll have to get another one when we have a second child because my son probably won't be willing to give either one of them up. The covers are very durable as they have been washed a gazillion times from being pee'd, drooled, and barfed on. However, there are so many cute covers on the Blessed Nest website that I'm tempted to get a new one just to change it up. The Nesting Pillow is a great investment that can be used to years!

my blessed friend Feb 23, 2009
By K. Bland i guess you could call me a nester-tester, as i've been known to regularly and simultaneously employ 3 nesting pillows, one for my back, one for my knees and one for my laptop (each flaunting a fabulously patterned interchangeable slipcover, mind you). and not to brag, but i think i've recruited a more than a few new nester-testers in the last year. every friend or new mommy that has been on the other end of a nesting pillow 'share' or gift has tried and loved this ingenious creation. the one-of-a-kind support that the nesting pillow provides is truly as unique as your body because it conforms to your posture minute by minute. can you say comfort? and speaking of which...what a COMFORT to know that this, the most intimate of objects (with which we sleep, lounge and nurture), is 100% organic. it all around FEELS good. and who knew buckwheat was such a sustainable, multi-functional plant? 3 cheers for beautiful organic materials, 3 cheers for sustainable comfort, and five stars to blessed nest who brings them all together!!

I've never seen another nursing pillow like it! Feb 21, 2009
By Shannon I've seen lots of nursing pillows, but never one like this. The organic filling really does make a difference--it makes such a gentle, soothing "crunchy" sound when you move it. And unlike other synthetic pillows, it conducts heat more naturally, away from mom and baby. Love it!
