Crackles and Cuts Out! Feb 03, 2010
By Nicole Hanson This monitor has several great features--my favorite is the ability to communicate from the parent's unit to the baby's unit. The sound clarity is great and it is small and portable. However, the thing crackles all the time! Our baby is just in the next room--literally on the other side of the wall, so it's not out of range. It also cuts out at least every 4 or 5 minutes. Sometimes it's out of communication for several seconds at a time. Occasionally, it cuts out for longer and I have to move or shake it to get the sound back. It is especially crackley when I'm running the dishwasher, the washing machine, the microwave, etc. So annoyed.

Horrible product! Don't bother. Jan 31, 2011
By jv I can only assume that first years does absolutely no product testing before they release a product. There isn't much in my house that doesn't interfere with the signal. From the wi-fi to the microwave to the vacuum cleaner, everything causes it to loose reception. So, if you live in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere with no appliances or anything else that runs on electricity, then this is the monitor for you. If not, I suggest buying a different product.

Doesn't Deliver... Jan 24, 2011
By D. Roberts Bought this monitor for the wide range of features and the purported range.
The positive: Like the two way intercom feature - helpful when one of us is with the baby and we need something from downstairs. Nice design - well, it looks nice - but button configuration and placement could be better (see below) Rechargable battery holds a decent charge
Con: Really crappy sound from the transmitter - almost have to hold it up to your ear to discern anything. Poor sound filtering - picks up the humidifier fine, but not the babies cries. Lousy, lousy, lousy range. Wanted something that would let me leave the house and wander the back yard a bit while the baby is sleeping. This isn't it. Button configuration is confusing. Nothing is clearly labeled and I have to study the unit every time I want to turn it up, turn it off, or use any of the buttons on it. Volume control - pathetic.

Do not buy this.. horrible Aug 30, 2010
By EJC For first few weeks, it worked great, no statics and you could hear baby crying loud and clear.. After few weeks, it started to make statics throughout the night and battery light blinks even if it's connected to the power cord. The light on the main monitor doesn't go off and you have to basically shake the machine in order to turn it on and turn it off. OH, you can't hear baby's crying either.. Don't buy this..

A Happy Mommy! Mar 29, 2010
By K. Amacio
"P's Mommy"
We got this monitor to replace another brand monitor that died after about three months and would cut out periodically, making me so nervous that I would miss something in my sons room when he was sleeping. We are very pleased with our new monitor. The signal comes in very clear without static and very clear when our little guy makes noise in his room. The two way talk feature is great because now I can reassure the him when he is upset and I cant get to him quickly (ie- in shower. I can also remind my husband to bring something from the baby's room/do something in the baby's room when I know he will forget otherwise :) The parent monitor is very lightweight which is great because I can keep it on me when I clean or do some cleaning outside without it getting in the way. We are very happy with our new purchase!
