Great organic moses basket - mattress is foam! Oct 17, 2011

I look long and hard for 100% organic baby items. I was thrilled to find this basket because that is it's claim, and it has a really sweet design. I am very happy with most of it's qualities, save two. The basket is a little flimsy, there is a warning not to actually carry the baby in it. It's too long to do that anyways, so that part isn't so bad. I wasn't expecting to actually carry her around in it. The disappointing part is that the "mattress" is your average foam piece! That is not mentioned ANYWHERE! I have already thrown the insert out, which is easy to take out of the organic mattress covering. Now, off to the fabric store to buy my own organic cotton batting and fashion a mattress. An expensive addition to what I already paid for this basket.

My daughter-in-law refused to use it. The lining wouldn't stay on the sides and kept falling into basket...which could smother baby.
