WARNING! Best View Camera #28074 Apr 30, 2011

"No place like home"
This camera will NOT work with the original Best View monitor! It is for the new 2011 model only. There is no extra camera for the original available anywhere. I love the monitor and the pan/zoom and needed an extra camera but this will not work. I am really frustrated because I just got the monitor! Now I am going to have to pay for a new one to get a 2nd camera.

This item is not compatible with the Summer Infant Best View Monitor. I purchased it because it was listed as a recommended item to buy together and it says that it is for the Best View Monitor, but when we received it, it is not compatible. The seller would not pay the return shipping because they said it was not their error, but I think it is a misleading listing. Amazon gave me a credit for the return shipping so I am ultimately happy now. But buyer beware. We love the Best View Monitor, but don't get the extra camera.

I have the older model of this (purchased only a few months ago) and when I tried to get a second camera was told I have to buy a whole new set. The entire reason I spent the extra money was so I could extend with extra cameras. They decided to discontinue the other model and do nothing for current customers. When I called (after waiting for 35 minutes on hold) I was pretty much told tough luck.

I just bought the Summer Bestview Handheld and added the extra camera shown on the same page. They are not compatable. This does not tell you the model numbers (there are like TEN model numbers). What a waste of time. YOU NEED TO KNOW AND MATCH THE MODEL NUMBERS. Just because they are shown together under the same name and even on the same page does not mean ANYTHING. A little quality control for the consumer would be appreciated. Noting the model numbers for match up would be beneficial to everyone trying to buy the products! Silly me assumed that if an extra camera option was shown that it actually worked with the product. It is the only reason I even bought the product- to add another camera for my second child.

As other reviewers have noted, I purchased this as an extra camera for my Summer Infant Best View Monitor (the older version apparently, although I purchased it fairly recently). This camera is NOT compatible with the older version of the monitor, but this is not disclosed to the purchaser! It's incredibly misleading to sell this camera under the Best View name if it won't work with a Best View monitor. Now I'm stuck with this extra camera that won't work with what I have.
