Cute, but not necessary Jan 29, 2008

This cushion certainly makes the high chair more aesthetically pleasing but really doesn't add much more than that. The padding is a little on the thin side and doesn't seem to make the chair any more comfortable. The chair itself is comfortable enough without the padding. (I sat on a much larger version of this chair intended to give adults an idea of how a baby feels, and it was indeed quite comfortable.) While attaching the cushion is easy enough, it becomes a bit annoying when you have to thread the harness through properly. The clip that keeps the straps together in the back has to be removed on one side. It's not hard, but does create an annoyance. Just a note: When using this cushion with the baby rail, attach the top sides of the cushion to the baby rail (instead of the chair itself) to prevent it from bunching up.
Bottom line: I think this cushion is probably best used when you no longer need to use the harness and baby rail for your child. At $40 it's a bit pricey for what you get, but if you don't mind spending the money, it's a cute addition.

I love Stokke products and I am a big fan, but don't bother buying these cushions. They are so hard to keep clean. I wish they had plastic covers or made them out of oil cloth, or something that is easily wiped down. I used them for about 2 weeks and just ended up taking them off. My son would not have known the difference. They are also really difficult to put on and take off because of the way you have to thread the straps and the pictures in the instructions definitely do not clarify anything.

This is a great looking product, and makes the chair fit our 6 month old a bit more securely (along with the Baby Rail). We got the black chair and this adds some personality to it.
However, I had to give it only gets 3 stars for the following reasons:
-The quality and texture of the fabric was definitely less than I expected from Stokke. It just isn't near as soft as I had expected.
-The cushioning is rather thin.
-It is surprisingly difficult to take on and off because of the harness. The instructions aren't very clear that you have to unthread the plastic chest brace install correctly.

our little guy is very happy in his new high chair and the fun cushion. The only knock against the cushion really is how long it took us to figure how to install it. The instructions on the packaging are woefully inadequate and the reviews on Amazon and the web seem to echo the sentiment. We have never actually written a review previously but figured we should pass along the tip on how to install and help avoid the pain for others :-) the breast plate on the five-point harness comes off and then you can pass the straps through the cushion.
