Beautiful Sep 26, 2010
By ProfSMB This is a beautiful bed and much more sturdy and substantial than I thought. The detail makes it look much more expensive than it is. The color is really more true white and not antique so if you are trying to match furniture be careful. It didn't matter to me but be forewarned. It was simple and straightforward to put together and we did it under an hour. The worst part about it is the huge box to recycle later but well worth the effort.

This is the most beautiful crib! Feb 13, 2011
By wre45 This crib looks so beautiful in our nursery! You can tell it is great construction and quality. It wasn't too difficult to assemble either, although you will need two people. The rubbed black finish is really nice, not too distressed. It has a nice, rich look. One thing to keep in mind, there is only a place to tie the back bumper on each end so it is kind of loose in the middle. We tied ours very tight on each end and it seems to be okay. We bought this crib when it was waaay on sale but after receiving it, I think I would even pay full price because it is exactly what I was hoping for! I think our baby will love it when he gets here! Good luck on your crib shopping and I hope this helps.

Great crib Sep 12, 2011
By mandilynn13 I had the older version of this crib, along with 2 matching dressers for my older son and we have already converted it to a full bed and we LOVE it. I purchased this newer version for our newest addition and it is just as great. It is almost the exact same crib so I can use one of the dressers from the old set. It is very sturdy and easy to put together. It took my husband less than an hour to have it completely assembled. The ONLY complaint I have is that when you do convert this to a full size bed there are 2 holes where the side rails of the crib were attatched and as far as I can tell there is really no way to cover this.
Beautiful wood components; sub-par hardware May 22, 2012
By khavinsky My wife and I are expecting our first baby in late June, 5 weeks from now. We searched high and low for a quality crib - solid wood, non-drop-side, and reasonably priced. The Status Series 400 Stages Convertible Crib was the only one we could find online that met our standards. All the positive reviews helped in the decision-making process too, and not just the ones from here on Amazon.
The crib was delivered right on time via our Amazon Prime free shipping. The local delivery company that Amazon used was helpful and courteous. Product came in perfect condition.
We are very impressed with the weight and quality of the wood components. The decorative elements are quite lovely. We opted for espresso, which to our pleasant surprise was an identical match to our existing bedroom furniture. It's a beautiful rich colour with deep red undertones.
The crib itself was, on the whole, not difficult to assemble. It took us about half an hour to lay out all the pieces, and another half an hour to put the whole thing together.
However there are a couple of things that made the process a little longer than what was necessary.
First, the instructions for putting in the mattress support did not make much sense. It was basically the opposite of what was supposed to be done. Bit of a shame, since the rest of the instructions were quite clear-cut.
Second, the highest bolt-hole (which the instructions recommended to use for newborns) for attaching the mattress support was not drilled properly on one of the side rails. They were far too small. This led to the stripping of two bolts, and it didn't help that the bolts were made of cheap brass. The bolt-hole was so small and tight that it wouldn't even allow just a bolt in, let alone the handle for the mattress support. So we checked all the bolt-holes one level down and opted for that instead.
Contrary to what's being stated, it's actually not at all convenient to adjust the height of the mattress, however it doesn't hurt to go lower down for when the baby is older and more apt to climb his way out of the crib.
While it's a disappointment that there's always got to be something of lesser quality - in this case, the hardware - in the end it's a beautiful crib, and I'm glad we got it. It is very sturdy. It doesn't even wriggle when given a few test jolts. The column designs really give it that touch of classiness. Very much worth the $380 price tag, when there are cribs out on the market for well over $900 that aren't even made of solid wood.
Only took like 30 minutes! May 16, 2012
By Aimesworth78 This crib was super simple to put together, and stunning to boot! Only took 30 minutes or so to put together. Color is nice and dark, but not flat and lifeless. Already have "non matching" furniture to match, so this worked out great.
