2Nicely made, but not a great toy  May 04, 2007
By Nikki
I got this because it was on sale, and I thought it would help my son learn to sort shapes. It is very nicely made, sturdy, and cute. But as far as helping him learn, it's worthless. Half the shapes fit into other holes than the one it is intended for. How does this help him really learn what goes where when he can just throw any shape in any hole? I guess it would be okay for babies who just want to put things in and take things out of boxes, but for a toddler teaching toy, it's pointless.

1Not the greatest toy  Dec 07, 2010
By Jo
My 1-year-old daughter received this toy for her birthday and has hardly played with it at all. As a shape sorter, I'm not pleased with this toy. The lid easily comes off, making it very hard to actually put a shape in any side other than the top. It's also difficult to fit the shapes into its designated hole. When my daughter does play with this (she's 1 1/2 now) she usually just plays with the box. Also, the wood is coated with a shiny substance, which makes me nervous if she starts chewing on the pieces. I wouldn't recommend this toy. Personally, I think the best shape sorter toy is the classic red and blue one made by Tupperware.

5Fisher Price Shape Cube  Jun 07, 2010

This toy is visually attractive to my little granddaughter baby & is made well. It also is educational teaching puzzle skills while not having a million parts to pick up after playtime.

2Sturdy but lid comes of too easy  Jul 29, 2007
By Half Redneck
Very sturdy toy. Seems like it wasn't designed very well or something. The lid is also used as one of the holes to put one of the shapes in. Also some of the shapes are small enough to come out of other holes. Confusing? Yes.

4cute!!  Jun 08, 2007

i bought this item because my baby likes big bird. he immediately played with it,as a sorter i think its a bit harder, because of the irregular shapes. but the wood is nicely done, nice product. i think its durable since its made of wood, but it could hurt though. just remember, when baby plays with toys, there should always be supervision. never leave them alone.
