Life Saver Apr 27, 2002

I have only had my Dekor for a few weeks, but I absolutely love it! It is really easy to change the refills and it holds so much more than the diaper genie. I had a diaper genie first, and the lid broke, plus it did not twist the diapers the way it claims to. So, I gave that one to a friend for her to try it out, and I got a Dekor. I am so glad I made the switch. This one is so much easier, and no odors at all! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the price of the refills. They could handle being a little cheaper, but then again I don't have to buy them that often. A must have for any mom.

A MUST FOR MOMMIES AND DADDIES!!! Dec 04, 2002

I will say that this is one of the best diaper pails on the market (Diaper Champ is a good option as well, but I chose the Dekor for it's simple design and ease of use). I was using the Diaper Genie until my son started on solids and his diaper usage volume bacame larger and a lot stinkier! Nothing I could do would rid the Genie of "old diaper" odor... even when empty. It seemed to have permiated the pail itself. Nothing I tried would deoderize it. Very disappointing. I had a friend tell me her's did the same. Anyhow, the Dekor is as simple to use as a garbage can. So far, it is 100% odor free when closed (of course, you will get a little smell that will escape ANY pail when it's opened for emptying). The refills, though somewhat pricey, are soooo easy to change and emptying it is a snap. There is a simple to use cutting mechanism on the door that you simply slide the bag over.... not a stiff knob with a plastic "blade" like the Genie. It is truly a simple process of cutting the refill and knotting it to make a new "bag". It holds a large volume of diapers too, so I only empty it about every three days. It has a simple, sleek design that is rather inconspicuous when keeping it in the family room. You will not be disappointed with this choice.

We are pretty new to changing diapers, but we have a Diaper Genie and a Diaper Dekor, one upstairs and one down. The Diaper Genie although a decent product, is diffcult to use when changing a baby. There are quite a few steps to finish your "change". Where as the Diaper Dekor is very simple and effective. It has a foot pedal that allows for easy opening and the bag is easy to change. Not the case with the Diaper Genie. Not only is it a 3-4 step process with the discarding the diaper, changing the bag is not soo simple. The DIAPER DEKOR, is by far a better product. Dont make the same mistake that we did. By two Diaper Dekors.

It's worth the money Jun 26, 2002

This diaper pail does not smell at all. The bag system is neat and compacts the diapers a little. This pail reminds me of the Fisher Price diaper pail they made 13 years ago (I don't think thay make it anymore). After 13 years I still use that Fisher Price pail in my bathroom. I think this Dekor diaper pail will still be in use as a trashcan in our home for 13 years also.

This product is wonderful. I had a diaper genie that was given to me as a hand me down and I have used it for 10 months now. My son's room began to smell like dirty diapers a couple of months ago. We have tried several remedies but to no avail. The diaper genie lost it's magic. So I switched to the Diaper Dekor and I absolutly love it. The ease of it is wonderful. No twisting and all that jazz. (And I don't have to explain how to use it like I did with the genie!!!) This is a wonderful product. I highly recommend it. I only gave it 4 stars because I just bought it a little while ago. I really like the fact that I can use this product as a regular trash can later which saves in the end.
