tripp trapp money trap Jun 22, 2010
By A. Gift For You I love this tray it has made me love my tripp trapp high chair. I would have given it 5 stars because it is a great product but it is very expensive for a plastic tray, especially after spending $250 for the chair $50 for the baby seat and another $50 for the cushion. OUCH!!! my pocket book hurts

works great for stokke Jul 19, 2010

I wish I'd never gotten the tripp trapp high chair, but that is another story. Once I had it and started finger foods, i realized i REALLY needed a tray - my little one was just pushing the food right off the table because there wasn't a "lip." I ordered the play tray in desperation and it works great. Super easy and it was worth the high price tag, but if I could do it over, I'd just get a regular old high chair with plastic tray and avoid the huge investment I've spent. Oh well, the moral of the story is if you already have a tripp trapp, I highly recommend the play tray.

WARNING - this product is defective Mar 17, 2011
By Michelle T Bartlett I bought this play tray for my son's Stokke highchair in Sept. of 2010 and it only lasted a couple months. It stained and started peeling shortly after I started using the tray and for almost $100, you'd expect the product to hold up longer than a couple months. I am also very concerned as my son was most likely ingesting the flakes of plastic along with his meals and had to stop using the tray altogether. The vendor I purchased from would not replace it or offer a refund as it was well beyond their "measly" 30-day warranty. So now I'm out almost $100 and worried for my son's health as the plastic is not BPA free.

Great at first, but not for long Nov 22, 2011

I loved this at first. I bought it because the day my son turned one he taught himself to climb out of a 3-point harness. I was excited when I found this because we already had a Stokke chair with a 5-point seatbelt and we could simply add this to create a highchair.
My son is now 20 months old. The plastic on the tray has been peeling for some time now, but he always eats off of a plate now, so I don't worry too much about it - I just think it shouldn't, especially for the price I payed for it. Also, my son now lifts this tray off by himself (it works mainly by gravity), and then anything on the tray falls to the floor and he's sitting there with the heavy tray in his hands (he hasn't dropped it yet - just gets upset that it's off and he's holding a heavy tray.) I've put a temporary stop to this problem by putting thick produce rubber bands on the tops of the wooden slats the tray fits onto. It works for now, but it's a big pain in the ass.
This tray was a great temporary solution for a little while, but in the long run it wasn't so great. I'm glad this is the fourth kid. I'd feel much worse if I'd gotten this tray for kid #1 and planned to pass it down through 4 kids. Peeling just plastic isn't safe to ingest, period. I would no longer recommend this to a friend.

A must and worth every penny! Feb 06, 2010

I was very impressed when I received the play tray in the mail as it was much heavier, very sturdy and thicker then I antcipated.
I have the original Tripp Trapp high chair with the European style infant seat attached and it fit perfectly over the infant insert. This play tray also has a rectangular metal bar attched underneath and comes with a black strap so you can anchor the play tray to the high chair without the infant seat attched and the strap will go between the childs leggs to keep them from sliding out.
I have been using my play tray for a month now with my 9 month old in the infant insert and love it. I can let him make a mess while eating the simply slide the play tray off and throw the food in the bin and wash the tray properly and slide it back on.
For more information this is the website of the company that makes the play tray: [....]
