Comparison to other versions of Aden+Anais swaddling blankets Aug 18, 2011
By April L I purchased the Pinzon Baby swaddling blankets in Wild Thing. The patterns are adorable - very, very pale pastels - almost so pale that you can't see the patterns unless you're close to them. The colors in the prints are beige, pale celery, and light blue.
I collect Aden+Anais blankets, and can compare them to the A+A boutique line and Buy Buy Baby/Target lines:
*Nothing compares to the Aden+Anais boutique line (sold on A+A's site and Amazon) - they're 47"x47" with a soft, thick weave. They're a bit more expensive at $50 for four, but it's the best bang for your buck. They are unrivaled in softness and durability.
*The Pinzon Baby for A+A blankets are the large 47"x47" size, but are a thinner, more gauzy version of the originals. The material has a rougher texture than the boutique version. The tags differ as well, reading "Pinzon Baby by aden+anais" with Pinzon's website and branding information. $40 for four.
*The versions sold at Target/Buy Buy Baby are smaller, at 44"x44," and also made of the thinner cotton material. They retail around $35 for four.
I use Aden+Anais swaddling blankets for everything - swaddling, burp cloths, carseat blankets, tummy time, nursing covers, changing table covers, stroller covers. I have two of them in my diaper bag at all times. The lighter Pinzon Baby ones are great for summer, and really nice for nursing. I can drape a blanket over my baby and not worry about him getting too hot or being unable to breathe.
I would highly recommend these for summer, or if you're new to Aden+Anais and want to try a less expensive version to get your feet wet with this brand. But if you're used to the luxurious A+A boutique blankets, you may be disappointed with the Pinzon Baby version.

Spend a little more and get the original Aden+Anais Feb 04, 2011
By Colleen I purchased these during a lightning sale thinking it would be great to have some less expensive versions of the original blankets to send to day care. I am incredibly disappointed with these blankets. I absolutely LOVE the orignal Aden + Anais blankets and highly recommend them to everyone. They are wonderfully soft and cozy and their large size lets you use them for just about everything.
As for the Pinzon, the only thing good about them is the size. I keep washing them hoping they will get softer but they are still VERY rough. Even though they are less expensive than the original Aden + Anais, they are still fairly expensive as blankets go. Since you're spending that much to begin with I highly recommend spending a couple extra dollars and getting a much better product (Aden + Anais 100% Cotton Muslin Swaddle Wrap, Jungle Jam, 4 Pack).

Not as good... Jan 16, 2011
By Jlib I had a set of aden & anais blankets and I wanted more, because I love them so much. I bought the "night owl" set and these are by far the cutest prints in my opinion. Unfortunately the Pinzon brand isn't as good as the original aden & anais blankets. The fabric isn't woven as tightly and it's a bit rough. These blankets are more gauzy and not in a good way. I've put my through the wash a few times now and when you compare them side by side with aden & anais, you can definitely tell the difference, which is a shame because these prints are so cute. I will still use them, and I've rated 4 stars because if you've never used an aden & anais blanket before, you will definitely like these. They're just slightly of a lesser quality, so don't expect the same exact product as aden & anais.

LOVE THEM Dec 16, 2010
By C. Dobrynski - These blankets are enormous. You could swaddle a viking with these. They are the 47 x 47 version, not the 44 x 44 version that you can get at Target. - Thin and lightweight, so I feel ok with swaddling a baby that's already warmly dressed. - Softened up nicely after the first wash, and I imagine they will continue to do so after subsequent washes

These are great, I feel they are soft. Oct 21, 2011

I know everyone is torn up because they are slightly less soft than the original aden + anais blankets, but they certainly sfuffice! Yes, the fibers are not woven as tightly, but the quality is still excellent. I think they are still very soft & comfy, I just took it out of the package and my son can't let it go. He fell asleep immediately after he snuggled with it. Not to mention, these patterns are way more intriguing and vibrant; I feel he will enjoy them much longer than the "babyish" patterns that the orignals offer. I think for better pattern options, softness, and the quality of these blankets... I don't mind sacrificing some thread counts.
