Polypropylene plastic bowl, questionable decal/graphic Feb 04, 2012
By New mom (old grad student) I was unable to find the bowl material in the online product description, so took a chance and ordered it anyway. Upon opening the package, I was very happy to see that the bowl is made out of polypropylene (PP, plastic recycle #5), which is probably the safest food-grade plastic and the same material used to make Avent's BPA-free bottles. However, as another reviewer mentioned, the graphic is a decal that reminds me of the vinyl "stickers" that adhere to glass without adhesive. Although it looks difficult to peel them off, I'm still wondering what material this is and whether it may leach any unsafe chemicals into my baby's food. I went to the Philips/Avent web site and found no useful information about this material. However, they did recommend throwing the bowl away IMMEDIATELY if the decal/graphic starts to bubble or peel. Although the PP is a selling point which I think they should advertise, the nondisclosure of the decal material (and the non-slip base, for that matter) is frustrating. Other than the decal mystery, it is indeed very cute, although I'll probably switch to a boring 100% PP or glass bowl until I can find out what material was used to make the graphic. This one looks promising: CaliBowl Non-Spill 8-Ounce Original Bowl with Non-Slip Base, Yellow

Great bowls! Sep 27, 2011
By Mrs. Isis These bowls are so cute and do the job! My son has the matching set of spoons and plate for when he's older. He's thrown them on the floor multiple times and they seem to hold up great!

Perfect Feb 09, 2011
By T Baker Great for meal time - nice size, stable on the surface, microwavable, and dishwasher-safe. Most of all, my baby is very interested in the clever design!
Love these bowls for my 2 year old May 07, 2012
By Di They have a grip at the bottom so they do not slide. This is great for a mother of a 2 year old who likes to push her bowl of cereal around and spill it everywhere. This stays in its place for the most part and are good quality bowls with cute designs. Would buy more and recommend to friends.
Color stays bright after dishwasher Apr 27, 2012
By peppers62 These bowls are cute, and what is nice is that even after repeated washings in the dishwasher (top shelf) on the super hot sanitizing settings they still have the same bright colors, no fading. BPA free, microwave and dishwasher safe. I think it is cute that these can be used educationally. They have counting numbers and corresponding carrots/tomatoes to entertain a small child while waiting for their food. What I like the best is the orange skid resistant bottom, because kids can move these around on the table without scratching the wood table. They don't just slide around, and it is a nice feature which I prefer to the bowls that come with suction cups since I haven't found those to work at all, and this is a nice compromise between suction cup bottoms and a rough plastic bottoms.
