I was so excited to find this rattle (along with the similar version w/ wooden rings along the columns) because it's all natural (no paints) and MADE IN THE USA (hard to find anything NOT made in China these days). While it appeared just as the picture displayed, it was a big rough and my child ended up scratching himself w/ the non-smooth edges. For babies that put everything in their mouths, I'd hope the product would be smooth (e.g., sanded down more). Unfortunately, it's not the case. So, I'd say this product checks the box for being natural and made in the usa...but could be improved to be more "baby friendly."

I received this today along with the Green Sprouts crescent wood rattle. I prefer the Green Sprouts one but I do like this one too, just not as much. Let me compare them for you. This is what I like about the Oval Bell Rattle:
-It's made in America! (Green Sprouts are made in Vietnam)
-It has a bell (Green Sprouts doesn't and I like a variety of types)
-It's hardwood (Green Sprouts is too, just a different wood)
-It's unfinished/no toxic coatings for chewing (Green Sprouts is too)
What don't I like?
Just visually, I thought it was going to be round and it's oval (yes, I noticed that and it's no biggie)
Also, I can see if from the picture but it does seem a bit chunkier and harder to grasp than the other. Finally, I do prefer the wood clacking sound of the Green Sprouts but I'd probably still buy this again just for variety's sake.
