Get a Hooter Hider or something with a wire Dec 02, 2011

I bought this and found it totally unusable, though pretty. I had so much trouble breastfeeding in public spaces and even found it easier to use nothing than to try and use this. Getting the hang of breastfeeding is hard enough without an awkward piece of fabric obscuring your view of the baby and potentially suffocating her.

When my daughter was born, I was living in the UK and eventually got something called a Baby Bubu that had a wire. I believe the Bebe Au Lait Nursing Cover, Mint Chocolate and Hooter Hiders Cotton Nursing Cover - Aero are basically the same thing. IT CHANGED MY LIFE. The wire REALLY does help. It makes all the difference in the world.

Buy something with a wire and become a confident public breastfeeder.

This is a great nursing shawl! I don't use it the way seen in the picture, I have it around my entire neck, that way both arms are able to adjust the baby and such. This was a big plus for me - the opening is big enough for me to look and help the baby latch back on when she unlatches. It's also nice that it's not too snug and the fabric is plentiful, so I don't have to worry about the baby kicking it and showing what I'm trying to cover.
