Just don't even bother Sep 14, 2010
By Dawn Meade As far as spoons go, they're really not bad and my 8-month likes them well enough. That said, can't say I'd really recommend them to anyone else unless Nuby improves them down the line. As already touched on by other reviewers, they stain horribly. Carrots? Squash? Sweet Potatoes? Don't even think about it, your spoons will never be white again. Never had any issues with green veggies though. As also touched on, the color change is also really subtle. The blue and pink ones are a bit easier to distinguish than the green and yellow, but all and all it doesn't make enough of a difference to warrant purchasing these.
Bottom line; move along and try something else.

Seemed Iike a good idea but... Jul 13, 2010
By B's mom I thought it was a great idea - a spoon that changes color if the food is too hot. But the color change is soo subtle you really have to look at it at different angles and even then you're still left unsure. You're better off just testing the food on your own before feeding your baby. And yes, the spoons stain BADDD! Such a waste of money.

Stain really bad Jun 08, 2010
By Joanna S i thought the heat detector would be great for my baby spoon.. but the fact is i cannot tell the difference whether the color has change. so i use my finger to be safe.. and it's stain really bad, make the spoon look so yucky.. i prefer to use tommee tippee weanning spoon or baby spoon..

Ergonomically amazing spoons! Apr 27, 2011
By bridgedesignmom I just wanted to add a positive note about these spoons. I have owned a lot of baby spoons, and yes these spoons stain easily and the color change is sutble. But most spoons have the same flaws. What I love about these spoons, is that they are totally lightweight, super soft, hold the perfect amount of food for a growing baby's mouth, and the shape and curve of them take all the awkward angle off your wrist. Someone knew what they were doing when they designed the angle and curvature of these spoons. They are ergonomically friendly on your wrist. So I would say if comfort for you and your baby outweighs stains then these are a great deal! And check the temperature of your baby's food yourself and don't trust a color changing feature! :)
Favorite baby spoons May 09, 2012
By adwoa74 I have been using these spoons for our 9 month old for the last three months. They are so soft and hold the perfect amount of food for a baby's mouth. I think that the color indicator is very helpful- if the food is too hot, the colored part of the spoon becomes light or even white. If the color doesn't change, the temperature of the food is okay, and that's all the temperature sensitivity I've ever needed. The spoons do stain with orange food, but I've never been concerned with this- they just seem so much softer than stainless steel spoons that I don't think that a little discoloration matters.
