great bpa free sipper, but hard for 6 - 8 month old to use Apr 28, 2011

this cup is easy to assemble and clean, and i like that it is bpa free and has a soft straw spout. but a lot of younger babies have a difficult time leaning their heads far back enough to drink out of it. so my little one will suck and chew on the straw top and get frustrated, since it is not a typical straw that goes down to the bottom of the cup. he can drink out of cups with the regular kind of straws. i recommend finding a different cup with a long straw for that reason

I must have at least 10 different cups for my baby. I read the one review with the 2 stars. Please note that the cup is meant for 12 months + not a 6 month baby. Not sure of the age of that child but my 12 month old FINALLY drinks out of this cup. The other cups (Nuby and Nuks and others) with the shorter spouts did not work well for her. I guess sometimes you can luck out and find the right cup right away. This one is working. She does not have a problem with the longer straw type spout. And I like that these Nuby cups have the hash marks on the side for the number of ounces of liquid on the side.

Why not 5 stars? Pricey. Come on over $6 for a plastic cup.
