Hard to Clean May 28, 2009

Overall, these are great cups. They don't leak (much), they fit in pockets well and are easy to use. The only problem is that there are crevices in the lid that are almost impossible to clean. Over time little bits of milk and juice form gunk in there.

Resign yourself to throwing them away after a while, or boiling the lids or something. Gerber could change the mold to make these, use slightly more plastic and have a truly superior cup. Oh well, they aren't terribly expensive.

You will not go wrong with these cups. We had tried Gerber before, but after the BPA scare we stopped using the clear Fun Grips and couldn't find a cup that was really leak-free. We tried Avent, Kanteen, and they failed miserably. We went back to Gerber and found these BPA-free cups and they live up to their promise.

Highly recommended. You will not regret the purchase

I ordered five different cups to try them out and to see which ones my child liked best. I have to say that I liked this cup the least. The valve is almost impossible to put in. But, what got me really upset, was the lid was also impossible to put on. Maybe its just me, but it was really difficult to twist it on and it kept leaking out of the sides. Ive had this cup for a few weeks now and its getting a little better which is why I gave it two stars but not worth the aggravation. I would recommend The First Years/Learning Curve ABC Fun Soft Spout Sippy Cup. This cup is excellant. It doesn't have any valves or loose pieces to clean and doesn't leak.

No matter how loose or tight I screw the lid on, milk dribbles out where the lid connects to the base. It happens about 1/3 of the time I use the cup, and it happens on both cups I have of this model. Very frustrating.
