5This is a staple!  Oct 04, 2010
By Amber
I tried this and the Earth Mama Angel Baby nipple butter--putting one on each nipple several times a day to compare both pre and postnatally. EMAB made my nipple really sensitive--so sensitive, that when my daughter nursed, I actally cried out in pain after several feedings! I switched to using Motherlove on both nipples, and the difference was prettymuch immediate. An hour after putting it on, she fed again, and there was no pain!

There have also been many times where I have neglected to put it on after several feedings in a row, and my nipples have gotten sore. as soon as I put it on again, it soothes the discomfort, and within an hour, I am back to almost no discomfort.

It smells faintly of olive oil (its first ingredient), and goes on really smoothly--it does not hurt when spread over sore nipples, and you don't need a lot (my daughter is 2 1/2 months old, and I'm *maybe* 1/4 of the way through the pot). Yes, it's small--a little bigger than a pot of Carmex--but it is SO WORTH THE MONEY! This is a staple for me when gifting for baby-showers! If you end up not breastfeeding, or have some leftover when you finish breastfeeding, you can use it as a diaper rash ointment or on baby acne. It will not be wasted! Also works well for a lip balm :c)

5Allowed me to continue breastfeeding  Sep 08, 2006
By Eve "joojeve"
This cream is the best. I had really sore cracked nipples the first week I was nursing my daughter. I was putting Lasinoh cream on my nipples, but it was so thick that putting it on was painful. Then, a friend suggested this cream. Wow, what a difference, it is oily but goes on smooth and heals the nipples like you would not believe. It does smell a bit like olve oil (one of the ingridiants), but it does not bother me. Highly recommended!

5Also good for cradle cap  Jan 01, 2006
By J.
Our son had the most horrible case of cradle cap. The pediatrician's office suggested this cream. Don't be fooled by the photo, the jar is very small, but the salve is very concentrated. The texture and color looks like vaseline, but actually is much thinner when spread on, and absorbs easier. There is only the faintest smell, and not mediciney either. The ingredients contain shea butter and calendula.

It has really helped with the cradle cap, severely diminishing the horrible weeping/scaling/flakiness of the condition.

5*Amazing* product that brings instant relief!  Nov 18, 2008
By Christina Brunkhorst "Krysia"
I'm a mom of 4. I've been through the cracked/scabbed nipple thing with my daughters too. My sons, for some bizarre (Freudian?) reason have been marathon nursers without problems. Minor problems, but nothing like looking at the raspberry that used to be your nipple (even with proper latch and positioning and all that) and wondering WTH went wrong? LOL... I recommend Nipple Cream by MotherLove.com. It's cheapest through LuckyVitamin.com. That, plus the Ameda Comfort Gel pads... and your nipples will *adore* you. That's what I've been using with my newborn (2nd) son. I alternate between the Comfort Gel pads and the Nipple Cream. I love Lansinoh as well, but I find the Nipple Cream *much* easier to apply to abused nipples.

One application of the Nipple Cream will have you seeing instant results with instant relief. I was introduced to it at the hospital, and couldn't believe how much the Nipple Cream helped the pain. A must-buy.

5A must have for any breastfeeding Mom  Jun 08, 2011
By Washington girl
I absolutely love this product!!!! The jar is very small, but you need just a tiny bit. So it lasts a long time. I'm a first-time Mom.When my baby latched on for the first time, it hurt like hell. My nipples were so sore that I couldn't take a shower or wear a gown without cringing. Breastfeeding hurt even more. But this cream provided instant relieve and comfort. I recommend to pack it into the hospital bag along with nursing bra and other stuff. This is a MUST. Trust me!! I love how it soothes and moisturizes my breasts and it's natural. It tastes fine and I don't have to worry about my baby eating it during breastfeeding. My little girl is 6 days today, I just got my milk 3 days ago. My nipples went thru a lot within the last 72 hours..:-) I have no idea how they'd survive without this cream. I apply it after every single feeding. I just ordered 2 more jars, so that I have enough supply for future.
UPDATE My baby is 6 week today and I'm still using 1st jar of Motherlove cream (I started using it 3 weeks before delivery). I used it after each feeding during the first 3 weeks, then I started using it once a day. Now I apply it every once in a while. This is amazing product...I might not even need extra 2 jars that I purchased 5 weeks ago.
