5Great product from Mam, as usual!  Mar 23, 2011
By 3punksandadog
I am, once again, thrilled with my purchase from Mam through Amazon. My product showed up ahead of schedule in perfect condition. These are hands down, the best bottle we have used. And believe me, we've gone through ALOT. I have had a leak or two here and there when I get in a rush and don't pay attention, but SOOO much less than the Playtex Vent-air system. We are currently using the size three nipple for our 3 and a half month old with cereal, for reflux, and have not had one clogged nipple yet.

2LOOK PAST THE CUTENESS  Feb 24, 2012
By Carolina Diesen "Bonita Bfly"
Let me start by saying that EVERY bottle I read about through reviews on Amazon had complaints of leaking. I was so torn in choosing between classic glass bottles, Playtex Vent-Air or Drop-ins, Avent, or MAM. I've now proven to myself that this is most likely related to "operator error" and how awake you are when the leak happens.

That said, I'm not as happy with these bottles as I wanted to be. I found the Avent bottles work better for my circumstance. Before baby's arrival, and after lots of reading reviews here on Amazon, I was sold on MAM for their nipple shape, especially as I was planning on long term breastfeeding but would have to send baby to daycare. I liked that you could take it all apart for better and easy cleaning too, but it turns out it's not so easy. The 'self-sanitizing' feature was another good idea on their part, doesn't work for me though, because the inside of my microwave is too short for the 9oz bottles. Another selling factor that got me was their cuteness. Shame on me.

I regret buying the MAM bottles after I learned how easy the Avent bottles are. The MAM bottles work as intended, but are unnecessarily troublesome. When it came time to send my baby to day care for my return to work, I discovered just how frustrating the MAM bottles are. First of all, you have to make sure the bottom is screwed on **REALLY** tight, otherwise the water used to heat will mix with the contents of the bottle. This turns into such a pain - literally - when it comes time to take the bottle apart for washing. This extra thick, screw-on bottom makes warming the contents extra long compared to other bottles, such as Avent. Once you finally do get the milk warmed and take the MAM bottle out of the hot water, you have to be very careful not to burn yourself or your baby with the steaming water that collected in that screw-on bottom through the vent holes. Banging it out doesn't get all of it and makes too much noise for all those night time feedings or anytime for that matter. Using a wash or burp cloth to protect yourself and baby is yet another added hassle and one more thing to maneuver while trying to feed the baby.

None of these issues exist with the Avent bottles. An extra ring is nothing compared to the base parts of the MAM bottles. Popping the lid on and off the Avent bottles is also another easy thing compared to MAM. When you're juggling a crying baby and a bottle at once, it's not convenient to have to use a counter-top edge to pop off a bottle's lid, but it's something I've had to resort to, unfortunately. Avent's lids are secure enough and prevent leaking without requiring a 2-hand operation.

As an added bonus, Avent has a conversion kit that allows me to pump using my Ameda Purely Yours electric breast pump directly into any Avent bottle.

5No More Gas!  Dec 30, 2011
By 3readerqueens
After finding out that my son could not be exclusively breastfed because of a medical condition, we tried several different kinds of bottles searching for one that he would take. After hours and hours of screaming, purple faces, and nonstop gas we had settled on Dr. Browns. They helped a little bit but didn't stop the screaming and stressful feeding times. My son loves the MAM pacifiers, so I thought I would try these; thank goodness I did! From the first time we used these bottles, feeding time was quick, quiet, and gas free!!! So grateful that we found the MAM bottles!

5Great for my breastfed baby!  Aug 16, 2011
By LaurenF
This is the ONLY bottle that my 3 month old breastfed baby will take. He only uses MAM pacifiers, and after trying 6 (yes, six) other brands of bottles, and my return to work a month away, I ordered these (boo for not being carried in stores!).

Part of his resistance was probably stubbornness, as I think we gave him too long of a break before reintroducing the bottle (about a month of no bottle), but I also think that other bottle nipples just weren't cutting it for him. These have a natural shape, in my opinion, and the texture is soft, like the pacifier.

The multiple parts don't bother my husband and I at all - I think it makes them easy to clean out. We haven't had any leaks - always make sure the bottom rubber valve is placed properly and the nipple is fully in the collar.

I'm keeping all of the other bottles we purchased in our arsenal in case anything changes in a few months, but I'll be ordering more MAMs in the meantime!

5my baby will finally drink from a bottle!! YAY!  Jul 29, 2011
By girl in the pink jacket
This was the 4th bottle we tried. I am breastfeeding full time but want the freedom to be able to go out and leave the baby for more than 2-3 hours. We have been trying a bottle a day since he was 6 days old with no luck. He just screamed! We tried Medela, Nuk, and Avent. He LOVES these bottles and just started chugging the milk down the first time we gave it to him. We has successfully drank from these for a whole week now. We love them, and they are super cute!
