Great, comfortable, simple chair Jan 21, 2009
By A. Yocum I did extensive research for a chair that could grow with our daughter. She wouldn't sit long in many chairs that were hand-me-downs or borrowed. She would arch her back, squirm and otherwise get fussy in less than 15 minutes. Now, maybe I didn't adjust these other chairs correctly. They were the plastic types that you see all over they place. I wanted a wood chair, with a smaller foot-print and one that would be adjustable as she grows. That wasn't too hard to find, but I also didn't want to blow $400. Especially if she wasn't going to be comfortable.
Pull the trigger on this one, just on a hunch for a promotion price on their website. There were only a handful of reviews, but I LOVED the fact that it was fully returnable.. even if I put it together and tried it for a few days. So, I got the chair, with a free tray and then purchased the new comfort cushions in chocolate.
OK, easy to put together, nice simple design and the cushions are firm by very squishy and can wipe clean without much effort. And the best part.. my daughter easily sits in in for about an hour (so far), with no complaints. She's 6-months mind ya. But, just happy as could be, gets fed and then watches the hub-bub in the kitchen or plays with some toys on the tray.
My only point of improvement I'd design: The seat cushion has only one cut out for the crotch strap, but no cut outs for the back hip straps. So, the back straps have to reach up and around the seat and cushion before they can go around a child. This leaves little slack for the kid. So, I guess you could make the straps longer, but the better option is just cut out slats in the cushion that match the slats in the wood seat. But, with the tray I usually don't use the strap. Great tray design, it's snug without being overly confining.

great for children with special needs Jan 27, 2011
By Laura Hutton While I don't know that this chair would work for infants, it is wonderful for toddlers and preschoolers. It provide just enough support for a child who sits well on his/her own. My children are able to get in and out themselves by crawling up the foot rest. This chair is the same design as the "Special Tomato" chair for children with mild to moderate physical disabilities. My son with Spina Bifida, who uses a wheelchair but sits independently and can stand with support, uses this chair. The Keekaroo is actually a little sturdier than the Special Tomato which costs twice as much. (I have one of each.) I highly recommend this for anyone searching for an alternative to a booster seat or for an adapted chair for a child with disabilities. However, please note that it is not appropriate for a child who does a lot of rocking as it can be tipped over. The base is as sturdy as a high chair but a large child vigorously rocking back and forth will tip it over.

We recently purchased this high chair for our 7-month-old as a replacement for the gigantic plastic/metal high chair we had used with our older child. I love this chair - it is easy to set up, looks wonderful (it matches our table perfectly) and is a great value, especially when compared to the other comparably styled adjustable height chairs (Stokke, tripp trapp, etc.). I'm sure we'll get years of use out of this chair. I'd recommend purchasing directly from Keekaroo to take advantage of the specials they often have.

Worth every penny Jan 10, 2008
By Picky Mom I just purchased this chair directly from Keekaroo for my 21 month old. Wish I bought it sooner when she was an infant, since I could have used it from the very beginning with the optional tray and i could have saved the $200 I spent on the Peg Perego. The Peg Perego served me well and was great but she only used it for about 1 year and outgrew it already at 18 months. Assembling was a breeze and everything fits well together, according to my husband. Fine piece of furniture with good quality, along with best features you can find for your toddler who likes to sit up at the table at mealtime. She was so happy to sit in her chair up against the table!! We are very happy with this purchase. Keekaroo has a promo going on and you can get the tray free. The cushion set is by far one of the best quality ones I have seen and believe me, I did hours of research before I bought this chair!

Terrible quality and not well designed especially for infants Mar 12, 2010
By Lula McBride I'm really baffled by the positive reviews for this chair. I think people are writing reviews for it right out of the box, not after actually using it. We have been using this chair the last 6 months for my now year-old son. Here is all that has broken or that I'm not pleased with:
* Tray's finish is peeling badly all over and no, I don't scrub it, I use a gentle, natural cleaner on it. I also now hate the wood tray - wish I had plastic to clean more easily and so I can attach suction-cup base toys to it which is impossible with wood.
* Hardware on sides does not hold the tray firmly in place; it slides out easily. I called the company, they were to send replacement hardware and never did.
* The whole chair gets loose easily. It is easy to assemble in a way that's not aligned properly and thus makes the chair loose; call the company for instructions on how to assemble if this happens, I had to do that.
* It's designed for a toddler so it's very uncomfortable for a baby. I have the cushions but they are an awkward fit for the baby and don't help much. I have a fussy unhappy guy each meal due to the discomfort of this chair and have to feed him quickly before he will simply refuse to eat because he wants out. This alone means I must invest in a different chair.
