Oily and a little yucky Mar 31, 2009
By Karen I do not recommend this vitamin. It is certainly an improvement on trivisol (full of flavors and colors and everything else you don't want to put in your baby), however you have to use a lot of it, and it often made my daughter spit up so I'm not sure if she got much of it anyway. I'm also not sure if it is advisable to use corn oil in an infant? Not sure about that.
There is a much better supplement out there called Baby D Drops by Carlson Labs, and you only need ONE DROP (put on a nipple or pacifier) for baby to get 400 IU of vitamin D. That product worked much better for us.

Love it! Sep 09, 2008
By M. Cuevas This product is great! My son has no problem taking this vitamin. There is no yucky taste or smell, it is a bit oily, but he doesn't seem to mind it. He is strictly breastfeed and only needs the Vitamin D Supplements which is why this is perfect!A must for every breastfed child!

Hard to find Aug 06, 2008
By Book reviewer 2005 Vitamin D is the only vitamin recommended for breastfeeding babies (except iron after 6 mo) and it is difficult to find it without other vitamins in the forumla. This is a great product. Very oily though.

Great Mar 16, 2009
By Ian This product was a great find, for all the reasons mentioned by other reviewers. I'd just add that while it is oily (makes sense, seeing as the vitamin is suspended in oil) it works well if mixed into infant cereal -- it also helps the texture of the cereal. It does not work well mixed into formula or breast milk, because it will float to the top of the bottle and probably not get consumed.

Great alternative to Enfamil's icky product Dec 04, 2008
By M. Pavick As our pediatrician recommended Enfamil's Poly-Vi-Sol when our son was 2 months old (a breastfed baby) we went out and promptly bought it, assuming it was the best thing out there. We were wrong! That product has artificial colors, flavors, extra vitamins they don't need, not to mention that if you taste it (I did) it kind of numbs your mouth!!
So, we found these vitamin drops and besides the fact that they are oil-based (which my son doesn't love but he doesn't spit it out, either) these drops are perfect. Only what we need, and nothing artificial. I highly recommend these to anyone purchasing Poly-Vi-Sol who only needs the Vitamin D.
