Description:

The Joovy scooter X2 is designed to fill a giant hole in the double stroller market which is a lightweight, "fit through any door", side by side stroller that has more room for big American kids. The width of the stroller is 30", no more folding the stroller to get inside. The wheels have sealed bearings so pushing two kids totaling 90 pounds is easier than you could imagine, and the double front wheels make the stroller super stable. This is especially important if your kids climb in and out of the stroller by themselves and we have included a removable bumper bar to eliminate this possibility too. The basket is bigger than any stroller basket on the market period. The canopy is bigger than any other stroller on the market too. Each seat is fully adjustable, independently of the other, and each has its own in seat mesh pocket and adjustable 5-point harness. You will love the one-hand recline system that locks into an infinite number of positions and all the way down to for a "near flat" napping position. We have also included two cup holders for the parents and two zippered pockets for phones, wallets, snacks, etc. The one hand fold takes seconds. The scooter X2 gives you the features you demand, the fashion you expect and the quality Joovy is known for - all at a reasonable price.

Features:
  • Measures 30" wide and fits through any door and it fits two 45 pounds children

  • Recline each seat and adjust each footrest independently of each other

  • Features one hand fold, huge basket, canopy and a removable bumper bar

  • Wheels have sealed bearings making it easy to push

  • Includes two cup holders for parents and two zippered pockets for phones, wallets, snacks, and more

5Great stroller at a great price!  Jul 26, 2011
By mrsrobni
I have a very tall 2.5 year old (38 inches tall) and a 7 month old. I spent a LONG time hunting for a stroller that would work for both my girls and not break the bank. I considered sit/stand type strollers, but for a longer outing, I wanted more than a jump seat for my toddler. Finally it was down to the city mini double and the scooterx2. The scooter won because of price and because I thought my tall toddler fit better. It was cheapest to order from the manufacturer (free shipping/no tax). We LOVE the Orangie color - it is very bright!

The city mini double might steer a little easier, and I also preferred its fold. However, it also cost $200 more and the belly bar is an added accessory. Also, the city mini basket is not easy to access. The ScooterX2 has a huge basket, and more than holds my large diaper bag, a couple baby dolls, and bags from stores in the mall. Its fold is easy enough to do, though you do need to recline the seats all the way, which is a little annoying. I don't like that the belly bar hits the ground when you fold it up, but I've mastered a sort of half fold where I have the belly bar touch my van bumper, and then lift it into the car from there.

My kids fit GREAT in this stroller. My 2 year old has plenty of head room, so the stroller should last us for a while. The baby has had several naps in the reclined position, and seemed happy. I also like that the seats, while side-by-side, have a bit of a divider between them (I think there's less poking/punching this way!).

It does fit through doorways, though it can be a tight squeeze. Going to the mall, we can make it most places. It does fine on sidewalks, in stores and the mall. We've had it on grass at the park and done fine too. I like that it's a side-by-side rather than a front/back. Doorways aren't fun, but it steers so much easier than a front/back variety. My toddler loves riding next to her baby sister and is constantly talking to her. If it had air-filled tires, I might call it perfect, but overall, I'm very happy with our stroller!

4Nice Value Proposition - Design Needs Improvement  Oct 09, 2011
By M. Shaw "Mahatma"
I searched extensively for double strollers on-line and in-store. Over and over again, it seemed difficult to find the right balance between features important to us - until we found this Joovy stroller. We have two large toddlers, so we wanted to find a stroller that would carry at least 90 pounds. We also wanted all black fabric that hides food and dirt stains. We liked the fact that it weighed quite a bit less and looked smaller when folded than other double strollers that have a lesser weight capacity. So, I felt good when I bought it on-line and even better after I assembled it until . . . our son got in for the first time. It became obvious to us that they designed this stroller for average sized toddlers who are plump and not of above average height. Our oldest son is almost three years old. He is over 3'6" tall, and he was almost too small for the straps, especially the groin strap that was already maxed out, making it uncomfortable for him to use. I called the customer service hotline and brainstormed with the attendant. Joovy sent us some extra groin straps that we added to the straps that came with the unit to give us the range of adjustment needed. Maybe it was just bad luck, but several weeks later, one of the 360 degree swivel attachments used to secure the harness broke unexpectedly. Again, customer service representative was helpful. Unfortunately, the shoulder straps to which the 360 degree swivel attachment is connected are sewn into the backrest of the stroller and both back rests are attached to one another. So, my wife and I spent about 1-1/2 hours taking the upholstered seat and back off the frame and re-installing the new one Jooy sent us in the mail. While I like many features about this stroller, and we speak highly of it still, I think the manufacturer needs to make it more adjustable for toddlers of different heights and allow for replacement of parts that break without having to take the entire stroller apart. When problems arise, it is crucial that a company backs their product with good customer service, which was the case on both occasions when we needed assistance from Joovy. I would consider buying from this company again based on the quality of their product and service.

4Great Stroller!  Sep 16, 2011
By Jessica Szopinski
We originally tried the Chicco tandem double stroller because we have that brand carseat and love their other products as well. However, I wasn't a fan of this style because it was like pushing a bus in my opinion. While the Joovy Scooter x2 doesn't accomodate the infant carseat, I found that its not actually as big of a concern as I thought it would be. The seats lay almost flat, enough so that our 2 month old looked comfortable in it at even 1 month old! We just got an infant head support and put that in there. We have a now 2 year old and 2 month old and they both fit well and look comfortable. The divider is big enough so that our toddler cannot pick at his little sister. The basket is HUGE!!! I can fit our large diaper bag on one side, a water bottle, small cooler, blanket, and kids toys on the other side no problem. The canopy is huge and offers full coverage (unless the sun is lower in the sky and you walk into it--then I don't think any canopy would cover the kiddos). The baby bumper bar is nice, but not really necessary.

The main con to this stroller is that the handle is not very tall and the positioning of it makes it so that you kick the back axle/brake bar when walking. I'm 5'5" and my husband is 6'2" and we both have this problem. I'd like to see them add a telescoping handle to avoid this problem. I did notice however that the brake bar can be removed in which each brake would be operated separately. Overall great buy!

5Good investment  Jul 23, 2011
By KBevs "TheStrollerEntourage"
I have really tall two+ year old twins, and I mean tall. People ask if they are 4 and 5 years old ( one is a little taller) and they are 2 and a half years. So I spent a great deal of time googling over and over : lightweight double twin stroller for tall toddlers with full recline seat position, charting the manufacturers specs on height and weight for each stroller, along with price, reading all the user reviews, and finally came to the conclusion that the Joovy x2 is the only stroller that might fit the bill.

I already own a $1,000 Phil and Ted's inline tandem Vibe, a double jogger, and the Jeep Double Umbrella Stroller, and some other inline fold up stroller that's too small. We have already outgrown all of the aforementioned strollers. The only other stroller that might work is the McLaren Twin Techno which is another ridiculous $800 stroller, I'm not falling for that again. I like to go for long walks so I can get some exercise while my kids nap so the full recline for tall toddlers was a must have. So, I am happy to report that the Joovy x 2 is a great double for tall toddlers! And at @ $200 shipped, what a great price for the amount of stroller you get! It is built like a heavy duty umbrella stroller, so it is a bit heavier than a regular double umbrella, 10Lbs heavier than the jeep double umbrella to be precise but it folds up compactly. The sun canopy.. i cannot rave enough about it, it is fantastic for nappers and sunny days, it is unbeatable coverage. The storage underneath is also plentiful. It's maneuverable, and good for city streets.

The cons: This is not a stroller that can double as a jogger, as is the case with most Phil and Teds. (However, Phil and Teds will cost you another $600.) It is a good around town, walk on the rec trail type stroller. The front two wheels are smaller not intended for moving fast over bumps. If you have both kids in the stroller and come to an "uphill bump" i.e.you have to walk up onto a curb, the stroller gets jammed, and you have to get in front and pull it up onto the sidewalk. As I mentioned, consider it a heavy duty umbrella stroller. It's really well made. Another con, I'm 5"10 and my toes bump the brake bar when I walk. Not a lot, nothing painful, but I always have to remind myself to take shorter strides when I first start walking.

In short, if you are looking for a lightweight double twin stroller for tall toddlers with full recline seat position, this is it, it's a great investment. I'm think I am also going to get the Joovy sit and stand thing to replace our single umbrella after I donate some of the other strollers we are no longer using. Joovy, consider me a fan.

51 and 6 yr old bought for Disney  Mar 25, 2012
By RoccoAvery
We looked at the sit and stands Joovy Graco and Baby Trend for a sit and stand the New Gracos were by far the best but we needed an easy to collapse stroller and one big enough for our older child to take to DisneyWorld. This stroller by far collapses with the most ease. It has great support for both kids. Each side individually lays back on its own. There is plenty enough room for our 6yr old boy soon to be 7! The weight limit is 90lbs combined so no worries having one weighing almost 50lb when the other weighs only 20lb. This stroller is much lighter than the others as well. We tested them out at our local Baby store for over an hour setting both kids in collapsing them over and over pushing them down the aisles. This stroller pushes with good ease as well. We thought we were dead set on a sit and stand but this one beat them all by a long shot. This stroller also has amazing canopy coverage! The canopy is huge covers them both substantially for long days out in the sun! This is a must buy - shop no more we did the comparing for you!!
