Nicest splat mat I've seen out there Jan 23, 2010
By Stacy B. Cantor
"Zach's Mom"
I had a cheap plastic splat mat that I placed under my son's booster seat for eating. We also tried to use it for when he aspired to be an artist. As they say, "you get what you pay for." The size was ok for when we played art class, but not big enough for when he threw his food. Also, the design on the cheap one had Elmo on it. It was cute, but made our dining room look tacky. I was lucky to find this activity mat with a very nice print. It's solid in the middle with just print on the borders. Very classy. I can use it anywhere in the house and it isn't too disruptive/busy. Not only that, but it's large enough to catch my son's flying food. Best of all, it's "green" and so easy to clean. I love the eco-friendly materials because they contribute to easier cleaning. This is definitely a keeper. I am going to have to order these as gifts for my mommy friends.

The best splat mat I have used Jan 20, 2010
By A. Chiang It's too bad I went through couple splat mats before receiving this as a gift from my cousin. I love the color, weight, and the versatility of the mat, unlike my previous ones. I had one that had a clear coating on top of a cotton print, and eventually the coating started to come undone. This one is not too thin, and not too heavy. It's easy to fold, wipe, and travel with. I put this under our kitchen island where my daughter sits with her high chair. I am not worried when she makes a mess, because after she is done with her meal, I pick up the mat, take it to the garbage can, and shake the crumbs off. Then I wipe it down with a damp cloth. We also use it for Playdoh on top of the art table where plays with Playdoh, or paints, and sometimes eats from. There is not one stain or rip from her abuse. This brand carries another line for Land of Nod, which is similar to this. Both are super cute, and uses the same material. I love the prints too. Not too childish, and not too adultish!

Such a great product!! Jan 23, 2010
By Sarah Eastman This activity mat is not only useful for many purposes but it is so cute as well! I have two boys that keep me busy and cleaning up after them all too often. With this mat it helps keep eating time and play time less messy which is always a plus. Instead of wiping the floor of crumbs and needing to take out a broom on every eating occasion I can just pick up the mat and dump the excess food into the garbage or sink. We have used this mat for finger painting, plah-doh fun, and for a little picnic with kiddos on the hardwood floor! Thanks so much Jaq Jaq Bird for coming up with such an adorable product that makes life easier and fun for us moms!

Shows its age quickly Jun 13, 2011
By Dotty This product is definitely more attractive than other splat mats out there. And it is easy to wipe clean (if you get to the mess before it dries!). But after 6 months of normal daily use, (3 meals a day in high chair on wheels on a hardwood floor) this mat is looking pretty haggard. The plastic has scratches everywhere and is almost torn in some spots. I hesitate to replace it already because it is pricey, but it doesn't look good anymore. When I do get a new one, I will definitely opt for one that is machine washable!
Cute, but doesn't stay that way long Mar 10, 2012

This mat is a good size, and is really cute. Unfortunately, it seems to ratain every little scratch and scuff your child puts on it. After 3 or 4 uses it looked like my son had been using it daily for a year. Overall, I would be a lot happier with this purchase if it had been around 10 or 12 dollars, not the 30 I spent on it!
