Description:

CozyWedge is a simpler, safer crib bumper with a modern, low profile. Traditional padded bumpers are a hassle to use and studies have shown they can pose a safety risk to young babies. CozyWedge helps address these concerns, and has a fresh, clean design to accent any nursery decor. CozyWedge is made of hard foam inserts in a washable, organic cotton slipcover. It goes around the perimeter of the crib, tying in just six places to stay securely in place. To change the sheets, just untie one side and the whole bumper lifts out for total access to baby's bedding. If baby makes a big mess, the slipcover is machine washable. CozyWedge's unique shape means the pacifier will almost never slip onto the floor in the middle of the night -- so everyone gets a better night's sleep. Many parents like having some kids of bumper in the crib even though studies show traditional bumper pads are not necessary for baby's safety and even present some risks to infants. CozyWedge offers parents an alternative, with a firm surface that won't form a soft pocket around baby's mouth and nose. The low profile helps protect tiny arms and legs from entanglement while allowing far greater visibility into the crib. Experts increasingly recommend frequent checks to see if baby is okay; CozyWedge makes that easy. And because CozyWedge is extremely lightweight, it won't press down on a baby who gets under the bumper.

Features:
  • Modern low-profile design for better visibility into the crib

  • Makes changing crib sheets quick and easy

  • Firm surface won't form soft pocket around baby's mouth and nose

  • Keeps pacifier from dropping on the floor at night

  • Washable, organic cotton slipcover; CFC-free, odorless, flame-retardant foam inserts; made in USA

4Does the trick. Expensive.  Dec 22, 2008
By M. White
Our son was rolling over and planting his face against his old padded bumper. This bothered us for breathing reasons, but without the bumper he would push his arms and legs outside the crib, get stuck, and cry.

This resolved both issues. He places his face against the hard material, but can still breathe. The wedge shape also keeps his arms and legs in.

The only reason I did not give this four stars is due to the price. There is no way this should cost $60 (maybe $30) but in my opinion this is way overpriced. There doesn't seem to be an alternative we could find, so hopefully another company will enter this market to make the price reasonable for others.

3not the best, but better than some  May 20, 2009
By Klenny
Nice alternative to normal padded bumpers. although I think the breathable bumper is still the best. Couple of complaints--it's super expensive, it takes forever to put the covers on the foam and doesn't stay on very well. Also, it only attaches to the crib in a few places so my daughter was able to move it around some (not as stationary as others). As a result, she was able to get her arms and legs stuck through the slats (both under and over the wedge). Not sure if I'd buy it again.

4At first I was skeptical, but it works and I like it.  Oct 06, 2008
By R. Kinnick
When the box came I opened it to find two fabric pieces, and many small segments of foam. The directions say to wash the cover for the best fit. I thought that this might be a bogus suggestion (you usually can't return a product once it has been washed). So, I took a chance. It doesn't prevent my son from sticking his feet though the bars, but that is really not a problem while he is asleep.

I love that I can see my son from across the room without having to walk over to the crib. Changing sheets is also easier than with a traditional bumper.

5GREAT for a baby who is a very active sleeper!  Jun 23, 2009
By S. Thompson "MKs are OK"
I have infant quadruplets, and after we stopped swaddling them, one of them was such an active sleeper that my husband and I would be awakened several times a night by a piercing SCREAM when she hit her head on the crib rails.

I investigated standard crib bumpers but was concerned about the suffocation risk (especially since this baby *just* learned to roll onto her tummy and was still not good at turning herself back over). I was just about to purchase a breathable bumper (despite the fact that the reviews said it was not very padded) when ... voila! I came across this product.

I love the Cozy Wedge because my baby can push herself into the bumper and still have space to breathe (the firm foam doesn't allow her to bury her nose in it), and she can roll all the way to the edge of the crib without the risk of bumping her head.

The product was easy to assemble and install, and I am going to buy three more for my other babies!

2Lavish Binky Catcher  Feb 11, 2011
By burbank99
I hate to say it because I really prayed that this would be the be all end all solution but it sadly is not. An expensive binky catcher, yes but little more. I suppose the younger the baby the better this product is suited. My son is six and a half months old, this did not contain his arms or legs and certainly did not prevent him from bumping his head on the crib rails, (the whole reason I purchased this). I laid him in his crib as I installed the product and arms and legs were protruding the boundries as I was finishing installation! The foam at its highest point is only about 2 inches, not enough to protect baby's head. Sorry.
