The Best Receiving Blanket for Swaddling Jun 21, 2010
By Christine
"If at first you don't succeed, try again. then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.~W.C. Fields"
I put this on my registry more out of curiosity than anything else and I am very glad that I did. This blanket appears thin, but has just enough weight to it to keep my newborn daughter warm and big enough to keep her swaddled. She is now about 7 weeks old and seems to be able to kick and poke her way out of other receiving blankets when swaddled, but not this one. The fabric is stretchy so it moves with her when she is her most fussy self! The only negative is one time she had a little diaper mishap and the blanket is now lightly stained... can't seem to get the stain out, but still in love with this blanket and I highly recommend it. Had I known it was going to be so nice, I would have requested a bunch of these organic receiving blankets instead of many others.
This blanket is a nice large size... my daughter was 6lbs 3 oz when born, but due to its size and stretch I'm certain that it can easily accommodate a baby as large as 10-12lbs and possibly larger. This is my husband's favorite choice in receiving blankets for swaddling too!

Best organic swaddling blanket May 23, 2010

I bought 8 different types of organic blankets, this was by far the cheapest. This is the only one we use-I bought 3 more. The baby LOVES them, they wash well and are very soft. They are not heavy so she can be swaddled even in warmer weather. Highly recommended!

Excellent Receiving Blankets Sep 19, 2010
By R.L. I bought 4 of these for my newborn son. These blankets are big enough for multi-purpose and very soft. Most of the receiving blankets I can find are 30x30, baby can easily kick out of the swaddle I create and wake him up at night, with this one, there's no such problem. It's a little bit on the expensive side, but worth the extra money.

Good Quality and Versitile Aug 24, 2011
By Mike & Amy Martin I am expecting my third child and ordered this blanket to replace some others that have shown worn from our previous 2 children. It arrived today and I'm very impressed. It is a good size, large enough to swaddle a baby, and yet not overly bulky...perfect!--My main reason for ordering was to use it as a bath blanket. From previous experience, I've learned that laying a light-weight blanket inside the baby bath before placing baby in there keeps baby warmer and less fussy during bath time. (Wrap loosly around baby and then unwrap a corner at a time to bathe.)---This blanket will be perfect for bath time, swaddling, extra covering in the car seat, stroller, and swing, large enough for a nursing blanket, and more. And, I love that it is 100% cotton so it will not get "pilly" as other blankets. I'm very impressed and plan on ordering one or two more.

Perfect for swaddling newborns Nov 22, 2009
By D. Wichmann We searched hi and low to find the right size and material to swaddle our newborn boy. The hospital blankets were actually the best ones we found until these, as they were large enough to keep the little tyke from escaping. Others we tried that were decent were the Target Circo brand as they're pretty large, but all the other receiving blankets were just too small and he'd free his arms and/or legs pretty quickly when he squirmed.
These are the perfect size so you can get a nice complete swaddle, and the material is soft and slightly stretchable so it doesn't come loose as easily. The material is not too heavy and seems about right for room temperature environments. We add a blanket on top if it's a little cooler. The price is also great as babies r us had a "swaddle" blanket that was about $20 and not nearly as good.
He's 4 weeks and about 11 lbs. now and we're still using these, and plan on using them until he no longer likes to be swaddled.
