 Not Effective In Reducing Colic Jan 24, 2012

This bottle is nice looking and the quality of the material seems sufficient. Unfortunately for my one month old son, it did not reduce gas or spitting up but increased it compared to the playtex bottles that we have currently been using. I was looking closely to see how exactly it reliefs colic and couldn't find anything on it that would mitigate it. It is very clear how the playtex drop-in's work, and for my son, it is effective, but it is also costly so we are trying all of the alternatives to see if there is something equivelent or better. This bottle did not make it and I would be surprised if it did help babies who had issues with gas, reflux, and colic.

Out of the three types of bottles we used (along with tommee tippee and nuk) this bottle worked for my husband and I the best. At first this bottle leaked on us (so did the other 2) but after awhile it stopped. I think the flow of the beginner nipple was a little fast but now my son does fine with it. Actually he collapses it now. We will be ordering the bigger bottles soon! Ps- bottle so cute to look at!

My 7 week old is EBF, but there have been a few occasions where he has had to have BM in a bottle. I purchased a few different types because babies can be particular. Yes, these are pricey, but I feel they're worth it. He takes these with no problem and I feel comfortable using them because they're bpa-free. He has had no signs of colic so far, so I can't comment on the "relief" these bottles may give, but he isn't super gassy/fussy after using them. The nipples really are slow-flow and he doesn't choke on the milk at all. In fact, he drinks a lot slower on a bottle than he does when nursing. I don't use them on a regular basis, so I don't know what kind of wear and tear they will show over time (mine still look brand new). For my purpose, they are perfect. I also came back and ordered a couple more just in case.
