Simple, Easy for Premies & Newborns May 04, 2011

Perfect and simple tops for baby, especially small ones. The kimono style/snaps save you the frustration of trying to stick baby's head through the hole of regular shirts. These make changing fast and easy. Also used at the hospital where my son was born.

Pros:
-Very easy to put on, which is essential in the early stages when you are sleep deprived
-has the built in mittens which is VERY helpful so you don't have to worry about putting on extra mitts (which the baby will get off, sooner or later!) or the baby scratching his face
-easy to wash, light, can be layered
-I bought a few myself, but the hospital also gave us a few to take home :-)

Cons:
-does run small; the newborn size BARELY fits my newborn and I would recommend getting the next size up
-very plain and not something you'd place the baby in for photos
-stains/spit up become very apparent on this shirt, so you might want to buy MANY as you'll be changing them twice a day

My son was born at 6 pounds 2 ounces. As all babies do, he dropped to 5 pounds 10 ounces by the time we left the hospital. When we arrived home he didn't fit into anything and it was so sad for a new hormonal mom!! He was swimming in all of his 0-3 month clothes. These kimono tops were a lifesaver!! Not only did they fit, they were super easy to put on newborn baby with his wiggly head. Baby spent his first weeks wearing them with a diaper and a hat, wrapped in a swaddle blanket (just like in the hospital). At 8 pounds 4 ounces (4.5 weeks old), he can still wear them. The weight notation on this product is 5-8lbs.
