Okay - Select A Show Soother is SO much better!!! Dec 17, 2010
By tlh081578 We have the Select A Show Soother for our daughter... we LOVE that one, but thought we would try this one for our son so that we did not have two of the same thing. Our biggest issues with this one are - it is WAY too loud even on the lowest volume setting, it does NOT balance well on its side (it will stay that way, but is easily knocked over if it is just slightly bumped while pushing the button to start it), the "light show" does not move, and the music does not last long enough. The extra 3 minutes with the Select A Show (12min vs 15min) makes a HUGE difference.

Great Buy for the Money Oct 17, 2010

I bought this for my son once he outgrew his mobile. There is a choice of two scenes which are projected on the celling while either water or lullaby themed music plays. This is perfect for the bedtime routine as it helps him time his play before light out and he really enjoys the music. Additionally the batteries have lasted a year at this point without changing and it so portable we are able to take it everywhere with us. It really helps Gabe understand that it's bed time even if he's in a different bed and place. Our next child is due in March and I'm planning on skipping the mobile all together and starting out with this projector.

It's okay Feb 03, 2010

When I got this, I thought the image would move. It doesn't. My son sometimes looks at it for a second when it first comes on, but that's it. I like it for the music, so I'm not having to lullaby so much. I do wish there were at least a few more songs, and it would play a little longer.

The previous version of this device is WAY better May 07, 2011
By Mr. Chris Last year's model (Fisher-Price Select-A--Show Soother) is far superior to this model. * This model has only 2 slides, neither of which are geared towards a particular development age * The music is loud enough to keep my wife awake and wake the baby when it shuts off * The sound quality is rough * There is no way to disable to sound * There is no AC adaptor, but it takes AA, which is the only improvement over the predecessor (which took C batteries, yet none complained about battery life in reviews) * It can only project at 3 angles.
Please check out the Fisher-Price Select-A--Show Soother. The additional features far out weigh the price difference, if you can find one.

Love this!! Nov 06, 2011
By S. C. Lach We bought this star projector when my son was only a couple months old. We wanted one that changes on its own or moves the pictures. This one doesn't do that and we are SO happy about that. If it did move then my son would never go to sleep. Being able to stare at the picture helps him go to sleep every night and he is just over 15 months now. The star goes everywhere with us and he loves to push the buttons and make the picture go on his dresser or night stand. This is a great product! I have been using the ocean noises, there are two of them and that is good enouph.
