Could be better Jan 24, 2011
By Amanda N I really wish the "shell" of the turtle stayed on better. It does not lock in place, so if you touch it (much less a baby hitting it with blocks), it moves. My son plays with blocks, the base and the shell all separately, but I had to buy another shape sorter for the intended activity.

Turtle Activity Shape sorter review Apr 26, 2010
By Stefanie Not a huge fan of this toy. The lid (or back of turtle) comes off easy as other reviewers have said. Baby has a difficult time putting the shapes in the sorter because of the angle at which the shape has to go in. She has been using it since about 12 months old but possibly it will be easier when she gets a little older. For now she plays with the one that has a flat top and doesn't lose interest as fast. Toy is durable and cute and we like that the shapes make noise. I would choose a different shape sorter for a small child.

Fun learning toy! Jan 29, 2009

I bought this toy for my nephew for his 1 year old bithday, even though the age limit on this toy starts at 6 months it is still very beneficial for a 1 year old! He loves it and plays with it every day, and you can't beat the price.
Hmmm Not Quite What I was Expecting Apr 05, 2012

This turtle is great conceptually however in practice it falls short. The top comes off way too easily. My daughter simply takes the turtle off and places the shapes in the body. She is missing the entire purpose of the exercise and I think it's duo to the fact that the shell doesn't have a mechanism that makes it stay on. She loves the shapes so she at least has some new rattles and something new to chew on.
Unfortunately useless for 9mo. old Aug 10, 2011
By Duncan Simmons The top to this shape sorter comes off too easily, making it pointless. My son is 9 1/2mo. old and the first thing he did was take off the top & throw it. He wasn't interested in trying out the shapes. It's too bad. It's such a cute toy & I love how the elephant moves on the front. All the toy needs is a latch so that adults can take the top off to get the shapes out, but that will keep babies from taking it off prematurely.
