Use a blanket or small towel instead Jul 08, 2009

"The will to win is nothing without the will to prepare - Juma Ikangaa"
As much as we love the Ergo Baby, this insert thing just frustrated us. It doesn't really fit very well and is hard to get in place. We watched the video over and over...
It's very floppy / flimsy and really doesn't provide any support for the babies head (which is why we thought it would be good to have)
We ended up using a lightweight fleece blanket about 2-1/2 foot square.
I don't think you need this.

I don't think you need this. It's really only for the first month or two anyways....

Not a complete necessity Oct 18, 2009
By laspgh If you have a baby sling, the infant insert is not necessary. When my baby was small enough to need the insert for the Ergo I generally put him in the sling. By 10 weeks (long for his age, but average weight) he was able to use the Ergo without the insert. The one downside is that using the insert makes the Ergo less comfortable on your back...so if you use it don't be discouraged - it is really comfortable without it!

Great Product Apr 27, 2009
By Lindsey I bought this with my ergo sport after trying several different carriers and this one works the best. The infant insert is great for the young babies because it supports them and cradles them in the carrier. My son is 2 months and 13 pounds and he fits in it well but probably won't use it all the way to four months like they recommend, but as soon as i put him in the insert in the carrier he falls right asleep.
