Doesn't fit 6'1" hubby... Oct 07, 2010
By Summertime Very good quality, but disappointed with the fit. Finally decided to splurge on an Ergo with the new Performance design - liked the streamlined look and the wicking capability of the material. We also decided on this carrier because of the range of heights it would accomodate, as I am 5'5" and hubby is 6'1" (advertised as fitting 5'0" to 6'5"). But two issues:
First, the carrier doesn't fit my hubby, who is 6'1" and around 205 lbs. He has an athletic build with broad shoulders/neck, and although we could lengthen the arm straps enough to fit our 10 month old in comfortably (she's 30" & 20 lbs), there was NO WAY to buckle the chest strap without choking hubby. Tried tightening the arm straps, but then it squashes baby a little too much! Even on my petite frame I have the chest strap in the lowest position (and I'm still nursing). Called Ergo and they said that we should try the original (as my waist is too small for the sport). They said that the Performance has a different style of chest strap that doesn't go as low as the original.
Second, the snaps for the hood seem "short" if that makes sense. Check out the photos on the ergo website, and you'll see the little black buttons on the green shoulder straps. That is where the hood snaps. Just picture the hood snapping over the little girls head at that height. It would probably fit perfectly, but if the child were any taller it would be pulling down over her forehead. I'm not a fan.
On a positive note, good material, stitching, buckles, feels like a safe and sturdy carrier, pocket is functional for small items, nice soft material for the hood and it tucks away nicely in the top zipper (separate from the pocket). Nice wide waist strap distributes baby's weight.Ergo Baby BCP32300LED Performance Carrier With a LED Safety Reflector Light - Spring Green

The best carrier I've seen! Sep 27, 2010
By naturemom12 I have a Snugli, a Moby and an Ergo Baby and I must say that the Ergo Baby is THEE best carrier I have seen or used. I have an in-home child care so myself and my staff carry the babies with us everywhere we go while multitasking, teaching and caring for the older children. With the Snugli (which is just like Baby Bijorn) I like it and use it often but when the baby goes potty, it often ends up on me since the way the leg holders are designed causes a gap between the baby's leg and the diaper. With the Moby, I am just too nervous carrying a tiny infant in it for fear that their face may get smashed against my skin and they will stop breathing. However, I have yet to find a downfall to the Ergo Baby! The only thing that I might complain about is that I had a c-section with my daughter 8 weeks ago and the waist support of the Ergo sometimes irritates the incision. However, the irritation is only a problem if I have been wearing it for hours on end or if I am sitting with it on for a while. I especially love the performance aspects of this carrier. It is more water resistant that the original Ergo and it came with a LED safety light. Both of those aspects are perfect for rainy Portland, Oregon! I actually love the Ergo so much more than the Snugli and Moby that I ordered a second one for my staff to use with the other infant. I also purchased the infant insert for my newborn and she loves it. We can go anywhere with the Ergo and she is perfectly content (always a big plus!). I would recommend this carrier to anyone and everyone.

a must have Oct 24, 2010
By gm My husband and I love this carrier. We initially bought the standard Ergo baby and changed it for the performance style. It's lighter and not as hot and bulky as the other one. But either one you buy is excellent for long or short walks. I even use it around the house or while working on the computer if my son gets too fuzzy. It's the best carrier for me bcs it doesn't strain my back.

Doesn't fit 5' mom Jun 30, 2011
By Cleanin' Mommy Was excited to try this model, after getting the original at a yard sale. Thought this would be nice and lightweight (the original is a bit heavy and bulky, especially for smooshing into a suitcase!). It felt GREAT as far as weight went, but there were two things wrong with it that I just couldn't get past.
First, the straps seemed a little closer-in than the original, which was awkward, and the waist strap adjusted further in the back (as opposed to more towards one side), which didn't work for me having just a slight limitation in shoulder mobility due to surgery. Couldn't reach back to fasten or tighten the waist strap easily.
Second, it seems to be designed for a taller person (although not too tall, according to other reviews?). On my 5 foot frame, what happened was there just didn't seem to be any room between the top and bottom of the leg openings for the baby. Since I'm so short, the carrier is not stretched up and down...baby is just smooshed as the carrier compresses.
Don't know if I described that all very well, but it definitely was NOT what I was looking for. If you are somewhere in the recommended height range though, it would be perfect. I loved that it had a pocket (like the original) and you could buy accessories for it.
Ultimately I ended up returning it and buying the Sport. It is lightweight and VERY comfortable, BUT it does not have the nice pocket (just the hood pocket, but with baby in, you can't slip anything in it without disturbing them).

I'm in love! Sep 23, 2011
By kanga I'm not going to lie I always thought all the hype around Ergos was over rated until I tried this out. I love, love, love this thing....did I mention I love this thing! I've tried alot of carriers and this by far is on my must have item list, now dont get me wrong nothing is perfect so I do have 2 complaints, so here goes my pros and cons:
Pros: -light weight..I live in south texas and i have gone walking to the park with my baby in here and not sweated...this breathable mesh is incredible! i have only used in the summer but since it really doesnt get too colod here thats not a huge deal. -goes up to 45lbs -i love the color -my son loves this -+has hood and pocket! -hood zips in pockets rather than being stuffed in like in origional verson -led light is cool i guess (honestly i have never used it) -easy to use -can carry 3 ways -so comfortable -waist strap is longer than original
Cons - an extra infant insent is needed so with out that cant start using till b aby is about 4 months -only comes in 2 colors -expensive -shoulder straps arent as padded as original
Even though I wish I could use from new born with out having to purchase infant insert I would still highly recommend this!
