I don't know what I would've done without the Ergo Baby. It's super comfy and my baby loves being in it. Especially, during the first few weeks of his birth, the Ergo Baby allowed me to do my house chores while having my son close to me. This is a life-saver when it comes to going out and doing groceries. My hands are free and I'm able to use a shopping cart while having my baby close to me. Before getting this, me and my husband would do groceries together. He would push the shopping cart and I'd be right behind him, pushing our baby in a stroller. So, having this Ergo baby carrier is truly something that helps us get out with the our baby.
Most importantly, keep in mind that if you have a newborn baby who is less than 12 lbs, then you NEED to purchase the baby insert or you may have issues with your baby sinking in too deep into the carrier- also, it's not comfortable for the baby. I purchased the insert as well as the additional straps. My baby loves chewing on those straps, it keeps him busy and even now when he is teething, he loves it that much more! Only down-side is that the Ergo baby doesn't give you the option to face your baby forward. It only allows your baby to face you and also you can place the straps a certain way so that your baby is placed on your hip. Unfortunately, I never used that option but will have to try it someday.

I have only used this carrier since my daughter has been big enough to wear on my back, but it is amazing. She is very comfortable in it, and the weight is distributed so evenly for me that it's like she weighs nothing. I am 5'0" and 105lbs, so carrying a 30lb child on my back while hiking, and even just walking around town, would throw off my balance with other carriers... but not with the Ergo. I really really love this carrier. I am about to have a little boy, just ordered the infant insert for my Ergo, and cannot wait to try it as a front carrier. I will update this eventually :)

I did a lot of research trying to find a baby carrier that fit my body type. I'm 5'10" and a size 2x and really wanted to find a way to carry baby without feeling bound up by some device designed for someone that's a size 4. I can use the Baby Bjorn but I have to extemd the strap out ALL THE WAY.
I was really impressed with the softness and quality of the fabric. The carrier is well designed and made and once I got comfortable with how to wear it, I really like it.
Got the infant insert and baby is very comfortable. I think I'll love it even more when he gets bigger and I don't need the insert any more.
Get the extender and it gives you even more flexibility if you're bigger.
