Works to reduce gas Nov 22, 2010
By Dave of KC Our son was having lots of problems with gas (we are breastfeeding and supplimenting) so we tried this formula. It reduced the amount of gas he had (I was counting the crying mad sessions) -- or at least the amount that he would complain about. It didn't eliminate it completely, although I really can't tell how much of that might be due to my wife's diet.
Regardless, if you have a gassy baby, you may want to give this a try.
It doesn't seem to dissolve as well as the 'regular' Enfamil, so you may want to use a knife or something to mash out any balls of Enfamil powder that form. After doing that, it doesn't have any problems finishing dissolving.

I was using organic Earth's Best formula. I mostly breastfeed but have to supplement some due to supply issues. Anyway my daughter gets about 6-8 oz. of formula a day and the rest is breastmilk. She is 5 weeks old now. She usually needs 1 or 2 ounces of formula after breastfeeding in the late morning and late evening hours only. When she drinks only breastmilk she was not having problems but after giving her the Earth's best formula she would scream for about an hour afterwards. She also often had projectile spit-ups and would burp and fart-a lot. So last week I switched to this Enfamil Gentlease, but I just bought a small can from the grocery store to try it. With the very first 2 oz. bottle we saw the change. For the first time after a bottle she was content and went in her swing happily cooing and looking around and fell asleep after about 10 minutes and took a nice long late morning nap. It was great and this is all we will use now. I am concerned that they do not offer this made with organic milk, I would rather have an organic milk to have less pesticides found in the cow's feed and no hormones or anitbiotics and I also do not really like that corn syrup solids is the #1 ingredient so I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for these reasons, but this formula does work for her and she is now a happy, content baby girl and our home is peaceful again.

My baby wouldn't drink it Jan 21, 2012
By Mr Toad Just our experience, but when I had to supplement with formula for our baby who had only been given breast milk, he wouldn't touch it. I tried several times, but it tastes very bitter. Many moms I've talked to have said that breast milk-fed babies do very well with Gerber Good Start formula. It tastes the most like breast milk. That is what I'm using. Hopes this helps a desperate mom out there who is looking for a good formula to try!

Worked...with some unexpected side-effects. Dec 22, 2011

My little girl was having alot of gas with the Enfamil Premium Infant Formula, For Babies 0-12 Months, 23.4-Ounce, so my husband and I decided to change to this one. While it did reduce her gas, it caused her:
1) intake to double the usual amount due to how thin the formula was, which caused her to wake up more often; 2) stools to become very firm or thick paste-like, making her horribly uncomfortable; 3) mealtimes to be more difficult because she did not like the bitter taste of this formula, causing her to take much longer than typical to finish.
So, after 1.25 containers, I opted to change back to the Enfamil Premium Infant Formula, For Babies 0-12 Months, 23.4-Ounce. The change back made her significantly happier--both in mood and body. She sleeps longer due to feeling full, and her stools have returned to normal.
This formula does work to reduce gas, but not all babies will take and stay on it.

Amazed Jul 24, 2011

We were feeding the Enfacare Enfamil while he was still a preemie the first few weeks after he was born, we were then told to switch to Enfamil newborn, what a nightmare!!!! So when I was told to try this at 1130 at night in the emergency room after he had a 4 hour gas filled screaming fit I was AMAZED... I was so skeptical this would work, but we at our wits end and so distraught that our baby was so upset at his feedings and suffering from horrible gas. Withing 4 feedings it was like a light went off, he was peaceful, eating well and sleeping so soundly. And has continued to do so over the last 4 days.
