Rip Off Jan 22, 2011
By atlsale Such a rip off. $13 for a piece of plastic mat!! It is the same material as any dollar mat.
Favorite kids dinnerware! Jul 26, 2011
By Ngoc I have 4 complete sets of Emily Green dinnerware -- bowl, plate, cup, and place mat -- in Sunshine Safari, Mix It Up, Up Above the World, and Dump It. For the past couple of years, they've been my favorite dinnerware for my 3.5-year-old, and I can't wait for my 15-month-old to get big enough to use them too! The artwork is quirky and adorable, but not too cutesy -- my family loves the designs. The dinnerware is also a big hit with my son's little buddies whenever they are over.
The place mats are very large, which offers great protection for large surfaces from 'food incidents.' They are very flat (basically a vibrant painting/art sandwiched between clear plastic), which is great because there is no 'edge' on the place mat that could get caught on a sleeve or cause a cup to tip over. They're very easy to sponge-clean and add a great deal of fun to meals for my kids. The artwork is so nice that we usually leave them out on the kids' table as part of the decor.
Amazon had these for the best price, and they definitely are worth the investment so far. Our oldest set is over 2 years old and the color is just as beautiful as our newest set. However, the plastic has started separating on one corner of one of my place mats. It doesn't seem to be getting worse, but given the relatively high price for what basically is a well-laminated picture, I expect more. This wouldn't stop me from buying another place mat though (either for myself or others), as they add so much to the overall feel of the set. The dry erase surface on the back is a bonus too! My main fear is that Emily Green will continue to come out with more fantastic designs and I will have to keep adding to our collection (much to my husband's chagrin!).

I would buy these again and again and for gifts of toddlers Feb 28, 2010

The artwork is amazing. I try and place trust in my toddlers not to make a mess.. Because I trust them, they really DON'T make a mess. I paid forward the "tiny diner" placemats right away.
These mats have a dual purpose.. The artwork allows you to teach colors and actual things that are on the mat. The artwork is amazing. I have croco creek stuff, and it isn't half as good. I love how it is laminated and that on the back, the kids can use dry erase pens and write on them for little art mats. They have fun doing so.
The plates are HUGE. So worth every penny. They match the mats, though we mix and match. We use the plates and they are the same size as our adult plates. My sons eat like men and they are not even 2. So the size make a big difference, as again, we have crocodile creek stuff that is way smaller and with my boys, forget it. Unusable.
These make great gifts for toddlers. I highly recommend them. They are super easy to wash due to the laminate and nothing sticks on them.

Artwork and quality are amazing - makes a great gift! Nov 09, 2009
By Sam & Jack's Mom These placemats are amazing and incorporate artwork that a child's eye and aesthetic can appreciate. They are also extremely functional and clean easily with a damp sponge. My 3-year old son loves his "Dump It" and "Dino-Mite" placemats. I also received the Doodle Sticks and keep them handy at the table so once he's finished eating (which is typically far before we're finished with our meals), I can occupy him as he creates his own placemat design on the back. A great gift idea for toddlers and kids!
