Great for sleep-deprived moms with a case of "the dropsies" Dec 30, 2010
By Leanne It's inevitable. If you are up at 3AM making a bottle and you are sleepy, you are bound to drop a bottle every now and then. Drop Guard is great for that. I've dropped mine off the counter 3 times so far and I've yet to break one. Even if you did, the silicone keeps the glass contained, so no dangerous mess to clean up.
I have the pink nursers. One peeve I have with them is that I wish I could see the measurements better. I have to squint to see the numbers and when you have a hungry, crying infant, it can be frustrating.
I also suggest buying new nipples. The ones they come with are too fast for a newborn. I've been using Dr Brown ones with success.
They are expensive, but sometimes you can get lucky. I managed to snag mine one day for 48% off here on Amazon, but only in pink that day. Be sure to check all of the colors periodically for deals if you don't mind which color you get.

Great Bottles! Dec 10, 2009
By ladybug We love these bottles. We had to find an alternative to glass bottles with removable rubber sleeves because our daycare was worried about shattering glass if they were dropped. With these, there is no risk of shattering glass at all. And we like them better than the removable sleeves because no water gets trapped between the sleeve and bottle, which can be messy and annoying. Plus, our removable sleeves, by evenflo were constantly breaking. The only negative about these bottles is that the ounce markers are extremely hard to read, especially when filled with milk. The price is excessively high so we are managing with only three bottles for daycare. Wish the price would go down so we could afford more.

Smart Invention Oct 09, 2009
By Jennifer Lewis I recently had the opportunity to meet with the inventor of this product while in Florida. As a Scientist, I can appreciate the ingenuity involved in creating a novel process for permanently bonding a thin layer of silicone to the outside of a glass baby bottle. This is actually the same grade silicone used to make the nipple. When you hold this bottle in your hands, you will immediately feel and see the difference. The appearance of the silicone is transparent, with a smooth, soft touch that offers an improved ability to grip. After throwing this bottle approximately ten feet into the air, it literally bounced off the asphalt in the parking lot upon impact without any damage whatsoever. After being thrown into the air again, the bottle still appeared in the exact same shape as before, only the glass appeared cracked within. The results of the test stunned me. As a mother of a three year old, I know how invaluable a product like this is. These silicone coated glass baby bottles are the safest on the market. On the contrary, clear polycarbonate plastic baby bottles have been shown to leach Bisphenol A, a developmental, neural, and reproductive toxicant, into the liquids within. Glass bottles prove no such risk. Although my daughter has outgrown baby bottles at this point, I will invariably use the Drop Guard bottles exclusively with her siblings to come.
love it! Sep 11, 2010
By mommy1 great quality product, does not break if you drop it on the counter, easy to clean since you don't have to remove silicone cover. comes with nipple and cover also. good grip.
Deducting a star for price Jan 12, 2010
By goobersnot I love glass bottles because I hate thinking of all the chemicals leeching into my baby's formula in the plastic bottles. Today it's BPA. Next year who knows what "benign" chemical will be shown to be dangerous. The drop guard is a great idea because the main disadvantage of using glass (breakage concerns) is somewhat mitigated. However, I find $10 for one bottle to be a ridiculous price seeing as the underlying bottle is less than a dollar. I give four stars for the good idea and seemingly good quality, but I've got to deduct one for this ridiculous price. Unless the sleeve is made out of some precious metal it's too expensive. Fortunately (for the company) this is pretty innovative and so they are the only game in town.
