It's the only sippy cup my daughter will use! Aug 05, 2010
By D. R. Fly I should preface this review by saying that my daughter is very particular about what she will drink from. She is 10 months now, but has been drinking from this sippy cup and its predecessor for the past 4 months. She refused to take a bottle, so when my wife was at work, I had to feed her with a syringe... which you can imagine was a slow, tedious process.
When she turned 6 months, I began to look for sippy cups in hopes that she would take one more readily than a bottle. Fortunately, she did... whereas with bottles, we bought 8-10 different types; with sippy cups, I only had to try two. The first were actually gifted to us at a shower... she seemed overwhelmed by the fast flow, and we didn't like that they spilled milk everywhere when tipped.
Enter the Dr. Brown's... I picked the original (older model) up at a local store... we liked it, but wished it had marks for the numbers of ounces inside. When we went back a week or two later, the store no longer had the older style, so we decided to try this new style. It was a hit! Our daughter seemed to like it better, the milk didn't come out when it was tipped over (or even much when it is shaken), and our daughter can drink the whole bottle in about 3-5 minutes of motivated drinking.
The only little quibble I have is that there are a fair number of parts to wash... if you plan to wash by hand, this may not be the cup for you. Inside, there are two piece, plus the lid, handle, and bottle... totaling 5 pieces to wash. It is totally worth it to me, but I could see that being a deal breaker for someone that was going to use this daily without access to a dishwasher.
This bottle is a revelation for us... I can't say enough good stuff about it... no drips, easy to drink, the handles are the right shape for my daughter to hold on to, and it has clear markers for the volume of the contents. Add in the fact that I trust this company to deliver toxin-free products, and I am a happy camper.

This is THE ONE! Dec 18, 2010
By Chelsea Liddle This sippy cup is quite simply THE BEST one around. I have tried many, many cups, ranging from cheap to expensive and this is the ONLY one that does not leak at all (not a drop!) AND my child can suck the liquid out easily. The only other ones that I have found not to leak are the ones with the crazy valve that requires all human strength to get a drop out of, which to me is totally unusable. We always end up either making the hole in the valve much bigger, which causes it to leak, or take the valve out altogether, which really causes it to leak! I have no idea how they made this cup work, but it does not have the typical valve system and you don't have to fuss with it at all to get it to do it's job perfectly. The one thing I will mention is that when you are assembling the two internal parts together, the little "bubble" part must be pushed all the way through the disk for it to work (not a big deal, I just didn't pop it through the whole way the first time and it won't work at all if it isn't popped through). Some people have commented on the fact that there are a few more parts than other cups, but to me it's not a big deal and I would much rather have one or two extra parts to clean and get a quality cup that actually works! I let my daughter roam all over the house with it since I know it will not drip or if there is juice or milk inside, I know it will not create a sticky, smelly mess. I'm planning on buying at least one more of these. They are the BEST!

assembly advice! May 23, 2011

I noticed that a few reviewers had complaints about nothing coming out and I wanted to comment about that. The first time I went to use the cup I too noticed that it was impossible to get anything from it, and after careful inspection I realized that the little ball in the rubber tip under the valve had to be pushed in completely before screwing it to the base. This solved the problem. I have to check it each time to make sure and am often fixing it. I saw that someone had made this comment after another review but figured I would write this in a review so that if anyone else was having this problem the would see that there was a simple solution without having to search too much. This should be noted in the instructions in my opinion. Otherwise it is a great cup. My six and 1/2 month old is just learning to use it. He won't take a bottle and will be at a babysitter for five hours a day in another month while I work my summer job and I am in a panic about how to get fluids into him! Hopefully by then he will have mastered it! He is having a bit of trouble keeping the spout at the right position because of the handles turning so easily but I think with some continued guidance he will get the hang of that too.

Dr.Browns Soft Spout Training cup,6 Ounce Dec 04, 2010
By Jim Bush Was skeptable buying this cup.. My grandson is 8 months old and we were having problems getting him to drink from a sippy. We purchased a Dr.Browm bottle for him when he was 2 months old because all the other bottles we tried ,we found the nipple flow was to fast. And he had acid refux. Dr. brown bottle was suggested By a lady in the store I was purchasing nipples from. Was glad I took a strangers advice. The Dr. Brown bottlle was a little high in price but was worth it.And so I took the plunge and bought this Dr. Brown sippy cup. I'm so glad I did. He likes it and doesn't want his bottle wants his sippy. It does not leak and he even can lay down and drink if he wants. The only dislike I have is the handle turns to easy. But it is removeable. I wish they had this around when mine were little.Trust me this is worth the buy.You won't regret It!!!

This cup is so easy for my daughter to use. The first time she tried it, she was a little confused but she sucked on it like a bottle and got the hang of it and she is only 7 months old.
