Great for feeding thicker liquids Aug 18, 2009

These nipples allow high flow for very hungry babies. Great for feeding thicker liquids. At 8 months, my baby was eating solids but I was also adding a scoop of rice or oatmeal cereal to her bottles. I needed the #4 nipples because the liquid came out slower and she was a very good eater by then so wanted her milk to come out faster. They work great and keep my baby happy. The #3 nipples also work great for milk with cereal added but it comes out a bit slower. They were great when my baby was 6-8 months old.

my baby has reflux and needed to add rice cereal to his formula early on. i couldn't find the right nipple at the store and wasted a lot of money. we even got a swallow study to figure out what my baby needed. if you want to add 1 - 1 1/2 tsp per oz of formula, this is the perfect size and high quality. however, dr.brown Y- cut nipples tear and are horrible for consistancy.

Dr. Brown's bottles are great - no complaints here! - and I would say they are my #1 preferred brand. I also use Avent, but I prefer the Dr. Brown over those.

I know that a lot of people think that these bottles are too much hassle because they have so many parts, but my son never had bad gas problems when he drank from these. I also love that they have different size nipples for more aggressive eaters.

I bought this for my son when he was using size 3 nipples. I never ended up needing size 4 nipples, but overall all the nipples and bottle for Dr. Brown were very good products.
