Why all the drama? Both versions of these liners work great! Jan 05, 2012
By sassymom There are dozens of dramatic reviews on different versions of the Diaper Dekor refill and system. People are apparently very passionate about diaper pails.
I have tried the biodegradable and non-biodegradable versions of the refills. I have not noticed ANY difference in smell/quality between them. I also use biodegradable diapers, so it makes sense to keep everything eco-friendly when I can and I like that Diaper Dekor gives you the option of choosing from green or regular liners.
Highlights:
1) Simple, straightforward re-fill design. The plastic is one long roll which you tie off as you use it. Super easy and will save you money in the long-run.
2) NO STINK. I have used the Diaper Dekor system and the regular AND biodegradable refills for 2 years now and I have never had a problem with stink. NO diaper pail will smell fresh if its kept full for days on end and never cleaned out. I empty the pail every 4-5 days (you just tie it off, so you're not wasting liners), and I also run a sanitizing wipe along the inside and the top. That keeps it fresh and sanitary.
3) Price: because of the "tie it off" system, you end up only using as much of the refill roll as you need. Want to empty the pail after a particularly smelly diaper? Fine-- tie off after a couple inches. Leaving it full for many days? No problem-- tie off a few few feet. Its a much less expensive system.
Biodegradable or regular? Both work.

Biodegradable totally changes the product!! Aug 11, 2011
By J. K. Priestner I was so worried about ordering these, since some reviews stated that the odor wasn't being contained with these new biodegragable liners. AND THEY WERE RIGHT!!! We only put #1 diapers into the Diaper Dekor, and the nursery starts to smell after the bag is only half full. With the old regular liners (not biodegradable), we never smelled anything until we changed the bag. I'm so disappointed that in trying to do something good for the earth, the product ended up being compromised. I am happy to say I just found the 'regular' liners on Amazon though !!

seems just the same as the previous refills Feb 16, 2009

a lot of people's comments were that smells filtered through these bags easier than the non bio degradible version, but I have been using the diaper dekor for three years now and it seems like just it gets just as smelly as it always did. A little bit of odor still comes through when you open the unit, but that is life. I like this system cause it is so easy to just empty out a few diapers or a lot at one time. It does seem silly to push the bio-degradible angle though when diapers aren't so what does it matter. I still love this system and think it looks good in a more modern styled nursery.

Works Great! Dec 28, 2008

These refills work great...I've had my diaper dekor plus since 2004 and just started using these biodegradable refills. I've not noticed anything different from the regular refill bags in terms of ease of use, ability to trap odor, etc. The only reasons I gave it 4 out of 5 stars was because (1) there's less refills per box though the price doesn't drop much--about $12 for 2 instead of $14 for 3, and (2) they're smaller--holding less diapers per refill than the regular ones, thereby making them more expensive as well. But, if you can afford it and/or aren't bothered by the expense, I don't see any reason to NOT use them. Hopefully with a little time, the company will start offering them at a more reasonable price for the amount of dirty diapers you can bag & toss.

I don't know why everyone's complaining Jul 16, 2008
By L. Brown These inserts are just as good as the old kind. I was really reluctant to buy them after they were so poorly reviewed. Maybe I have had more success because if it's a #2 diaper, I dump what I can into the toilet before the diaper goes into the pail... Don't throw away your diaper dekor! I think these are fine.
