Great for cloth diapering Jun 15, 2010
By Natural Mother My mother had originally bought me a diaper genie. We didn't know it wouldn't work with cloth diapers because of the crazy way the bags are cut. (I personally think this is a waste of plastic concerning the bags, and the cutting mechanism takes up a lot of space in the actual diaper pail...) My husband saw this at BabiesRUs and we took it out of the box to check it out. It seemed like it would work with cloth diapers so we bought it. I'm glad we did, because it has been a great addition to our cloth diaperig regime. Instead of using the included plastic bags, I put a Thirsties diaper pail liner in there. It fit perfectly, and then the dirty cloth diapers and wipes are simply pushed through the door on top. Smell doesn't seem to be an issue, since the top is sealed with a rubber gasket, and it works way better than having just a liner that we had hanging on the door - husband complained of smell after only one day.
The only issue I have is that the door seemed to be getting a bit stuck this morning, not wanting to fully close - and we've only had the pail for 2 days. Maybe it's just in the way that I had last opened the pail - I'm going to check it out further. If it is a design flaw, I'll return it and keep searching for that "perfect cloth diapering pail".

Awesome for cloth & disposables - no odor! Dec 29, 2010
By M V I love this diaper pail. After watching two sisters struggle with finding the right diaper pail for cloth diapers - I was THRILLED to find this one. It works well for both cloth & disposables and completely locks in the odor. Mind you - you can only fit about 2 days of diapers if you're using cloth - but still plenty of time to build up a pretty good smell.
I highly recommend this pail. It works well with thirsties and swaddlebees brands cloth pail liners. Or you can use the plastic refill bags too.

Save lots and LOTS of money Sep 12, 2010
By Sir Readsalot This product is so superior to the diaper genie it's not even in the same ballpark. With the genie, you have to lift the lid, squish the soiled diaper into the chamber (watch those hands), turn the bezel, push down again to make a hollow chamber for the next time (using both hands), close the lid. With the Dekor, you just press with your foot, insert, and let go. No contest. BUT, the real key is that the refills (for both products) are expensive (more for the dekor). However, with the dekor, you can use a regular tall kitchen garbage bag. So instead of paying something like 75 cents for each full pail, you pay a few cents (the cost of a kitchen garbage bag). It takes about an extra minute to do it this way, but I believe, well worth it.

Best diaper pail ever! May 25, 2011
By Jeannie I had two of these pails when my son was a baby. I absolutely loved them. They have a rubber gasket which keeps the odor in, and the plus model is large enough that I only emptied them once a week. Don't waste your money on the smaller model; the plus size is far superior. The opening is a lot bigger and far more preferable for those messy diapers. The only drawback is the cost of the refills, but each liner lasted me about 3 months (I had two pails, so expect about a month to a month and a half with just one). It is a continuous bag, so do not waste a lot of plastic when cutting and tying the bag off and you will get the maximum usage out of it. The pail is plastic and will absorb odors over time, so I used to put that carpet freshening powder in the bottom to prevent that. It really made a difference.

Good pail but like the Diaper Genie better Jun 07, 2010

It's a good pail and does the job but i like the diaper genie better. I think it holds more diapers and it is easy to empty, but when you push the door open to put something in it the odor does come out. Also, i don't like that you have to push through the door. If there is some mess on the diaper then you have to clean the door! With the diaper genie you push the diaper through the slot where the bag is so any mess gets pushed into the pail as new bag replaces what you've pushed through. Also, there is more of a seal so the odors don't come out. Our baby is one, so possibly when the baby and her diapers are bigger the larger door on the dekor might be easier to get larger diapers through. Good luck all.
