Very good alternative to a full size high chair Nov 28, 2008
By Maine Muggle
"mainemuggle"
We use this as an alternative to a full size high chair and it works well.
Bad points: I like the grippy hippos but find that food gets stuck under the hippo grips and in the creases of the hippos - not a huge deal but it does mean that I have to losen the chair and wash it after each use. Also there is a space between the chair and the table which has become a favorite space for our daughter to "drop" food and practice her favorite word "Oht-oh!". I think that both of these "bad points" could be remedied with a plastic type placemat with perfect placement.
Good points: We have traveled with this chair and although a little bulky (with all the other baby gear you need to carry along) it was a nice way to visit friends and not be juggling an infant on our laps. This chair also allows your baby to sit at the table and therefore interact more during mealtime - a huge bonus for social skills and family time. The compact size of this chair (compared to regular high chairs) fits our rather small dining room, letting us move around it without being squished.

love the compact design -- no floor space lost Oct 13, 2009
By KNSudha I saw that a new model the 360 is available, and would go for that instead of this -- This is almost perfect -- I loved travelling with it, and its awesome. The cons are that it takes a lot of wiping down to clean up, with quite a bit of elbow grease and the gap between the seat and the counter/table is quite significant. So lots of food does get dropped down that gap. For everyday use, I found that its really messy compared to my prima pappa chairs with the removable tray, and vinyl seats. You have to wipe down with a damp/wet cloth to clean up and since it is made of cloth itself, it gets wet and needs drying time before the next use. So breakfast to snack time 1-2 hrs is not sufficient drying time sometimes for a really gooey breakfast mess that I had to wet wipe. Once a week or sometimes more often, I take it off, take out the arm pieces and cardboard seat foam, and wash it in our laundry sink. (The curved iron peice stays on the seat since its just too hard to take off and put back on)
The seat is too upright to use for an infant less than about 7 - 8 months old. So for the first two months I had to use only my prima pappas that have a recline and lots more support with a five point harness. I did not have theses for my older son and switched from high chair to stokke when he was 2 or so.
As a pro, it wipes up /washes up to look as good as new week after week and I have had it for 6 mo or so of constant use. I have them up on my island, so that they can eat while watching me cook etc. and feel more part of what we are doing in the kitchen. I use the prima pappa's still a lot and totally love those. If I had to give one up, I would say I would give up the prima pappas, but really could not have used these to start feeding my twins for a few mo.

Super easy to use Jan 11, 2009

We bought this so we didn't have to use the highchair all the time in our house. We also bring it with us out to eat and to friends houses. It is super easy to travel with, but takes a few minutes to set up because you have to take it completely apart to fit in the bag. Overall though we are very pleased with it and how it is standing up to all the meal times.

Had it in the past, bought it as a gift Apr 11, 2011
By Debbie C I had previously purchased this item about 4 years ago. I needed a chair that I could use while visting the in-laws for my toddler (she was definitely over 1yrs old, maybe 18 months?). This was a great purchase as we used it allowed us to feed the toddler while we were also eatting. We didn't have to worry about bulky storage when not in use, and it secured firmly to the kitchen table (which itself has to be a sturdy table). You will need to make sure the adjustable posts are securely tightened; the easy release buttons makes it easy to disassemble. This came up as a shower present for a relative and I knew it would work great as a traveling chair once the baby was a toddler. The tote bag is a nice addition.

Everyday Use May 01, 2009
By Happy to Help We use this instead of a standard high chair. I love that it takes up so little space in our little space. Yes, the hippos do get a little messy. They wipe up easily (but I don't go to the trouble of cleaning under them every meal). We had an issue with the one of the handles getting stuck and so it was impossible to take the seat off the table without some brute force. But, Amazon happily replaced it with a new one. We've had the seat for nearly 5 months, and I haven't had to wash it yet. If you wipe it well after each use, it stays pretty clean. Now that our baby is feeding himself more, I think a run through the wash is in our near future.
