For blondes ┐going green' after prolonged exposure to chlorine in swimming pools isn't unusual. In fact, sometimes darker hair can also develop a green tint to it too. According to studies, the problem is due to high concentrations of copper dissolved in the pool water. This can chemically interact with chlorine and the resulting chemical compound readily binds to the hair cuticle. It has also been reported that high levels of copper in tap water can also turn hair green! One solution is to wash hair immediately after swimming with a pH rebalancing shampoo (like ours!). Great Body Wash May 06, 2010

I was looking for a shampoo to remove the chlorine from my hair. This looked great since it was both shampoo and body wash. After trying it, I found that it made my very fine hair, heavy and dull. But... it was great as a body wash. I love the smell, and it took the chlorine smell off of my skin. I can usually still smell chlorine on my skin the next day, but after using California Baby, there was no chlorine smell. I also noticed my skin was not as tight and dried out as it usually is after swimming. I will buy it again, but not for my hair.

I work out in the health club pool 4 hours a week, and the chlorine smell in my skin was a real problem. California Baby's Swimmer's Defense works very well getting rid of the chlorine odor, and it prevents the skin irritation chlorine can cause. I like that it has so many natural ingredients, too. It's a great product.

This all natural shampoo and body wash has a fresh lemon scent and removes the odor of chlorine from my skin and hair. It leaves my hair shiny and silky. However, it's thinner/waterier than most commercials products and doesn't foam as much because it doesn't contain the harsh surfactants that are typically added to soap to make it lather. I'm happy to be using a safe product, but unfortunately I have to apply a good deal of it to wash my hair and body thoroughly, so I use it up quickly.
