5CHOOSE THE BEST FOR YOUR BABY/CHILD  Nov 24, 2010
By Proud mom in WA
I didn't know much about baby products when I first had my son. My son had really bad eczma as an infant and I tried a huge variety of products- trying to find something that worked. I finally stumbled on California Baby's Calendula Cream (which I highly recommend getting as well!) which cleared up his eczema in just a day or two! I also use it for his diaper area, and have not had a diaper rash problem since. Then one day he started having a scalp problem, and I found the California Baby Calendula Shampoo & Bodywash. The problem went away immediately after starting to use the product! I now only buy California Baby products for my son. I use their creams, shampoos, lotions, and sunscreen. Please use only natural products on your child as well! Check to see a product's potential harm on cosmeticdatabase.com. I also use a lot of California Baby products on myself because it is not limited to only babies and children. I highly recommend this product and other California Baby products for your whole family!

3Not a baby smell  Jan 17, 2012

it is ok, nice to know that it is safe but I didnt think about the smell. When I first used it I was a little surprised at how she smelled after the bath. I jsut dont think it is a baby smell and will not get this kind again.

5Great for Whole Family!  Jan 13, 2012
By Morgannin "Eco-friendly mom"
My husband, myself, and my six month old all use this as our daily shampoo, face wash (except the baby), and body wash. We all have very sensitive skin. None of us get irritated skin from any California Baby product.

Pros

I used to get occasional break outs, but not anymore. (I also use the Diaper Area Wash as a toner and the Super Sensitive Lotion as my moisturizer).
It keeps our skin soft.
My daughter no longer gets baby acne (diagnosed by her NP) on her scalp.

Cons

I don't much care for the smell, but it works so well that I don't let it bother me.

Update:

There are several things I forgot to mention about this product:

-It DOES lather (as do their bubble baths and other shampoos)! Just make sure your child's hair (or yours) is completely wet all the way through, get your hands slightly damp, and lather IN YOUR HANDS before putting it on your child's (or your own) scalp. This works great for us.
-My daughter's skin is soft, baby acne free, and eczema free! We only use California Baby products on her skin.
-I don't think I stressed just how sensitive our family, especially my baby, is when it comes to hygiene products. My daughter is allergic to almost everything I've ever tried on her. She (nor my husband or myself) has NEVER had a bad reaction to any California Baby product.
-I had issues with hair loss after I had my daughter! I have heard this is a common issue for new moms. I would have collected a condensed ball of hair the size of a ping pong ball after showering and another ball of hair 1/2-2/3 that size after combing my wet hair. I noticed a difference immediately when I started using this shampoo (and the Calendula conditioner). I now only lose 20-30 total hairs in a day! That's nuts. I was "shedding" more than that before I had my daughter.
-This shampoo is also great for dandruff and dry scalp. However, I do recommend using the California Baby Tea Tree and Lavender shampoo once a week to remove any impurities.

4Keeping Cradle Cap at bay...  Aug 17, 2011
By SF Native "SF Native"
My 8 week old son developed a mild case of cradle cap. It's not supposed to bother the babies, but it bothered me so I bought this soap figuring at worst it would be a nice smelling organic soap to use for my son and at best it would cure his cradle cap. It's true that this produce is a great soap for baby-- it's all organic, comes highly recommended by childcare experts, and smells nice. Also, at night when my husband scrubs my son's head lightly with a washcloth and this soap it seems to remove the cradle cap flakes. Unfortunately, the flakes sometimes come back the next morning so it's not a perfect cure. That said, I also bought the California Baby Calendula cream, and when I added that to the mix the cradle cap goes away.

All and all, I really like this product.

5good for dry skin or eczema  Jul 04, 2011
By addisonsmom
Use this for my dd that has super dry skin & eczema. Doesn't dry out her sensitive skin! Not the best on her scalp for the cradle cap, but won't make it worse either. Definitely would try if you are looking for something for dry or sensitive skin.
