sizing runs small May 21, 2010
By M. M. Hartley After washing, the size small (what Bummis refers to as Infant: 7 - 20 lbs) shrink to roughly 11.5 by 14 inches. My son is growing pretty fast but is still shy of both 2 months and 15 pounds. Nevertheless, he outgrew the infant size before he weighed 13 pounds! And that's using covers without pins. He outgrew being able to fasten the infant diapers with a snappi or pins well before that. (Personally, I like being able to use prefolds without water-proof covers like Thirsties--using no covers or using simple wool soakers allows more air to circulate.) To keep using cloth prefolds, I decided to bite the bullet order the medium size organic Bummis prefolds (which Bummis refers to as Baby: 15 - 40 lbs). What a mistake. A few days ago, the came. After laundering them to take out the natural waxes, their dimensions are approximately 12 by 17.5 inches. They aren't that much bigger! I wish they were a bit wider so I could use them my preferred way (folding for maximum absorbency in front and using a snappi) for a long time before he outgrows them. My son fits that way for now, but looking at the fit, it's obvious that he will probably outgrow these soon too. I suppose using these will tie me down to using the PUL covers all the time, or maybe I could get a prefold belt. Either way, it's not what I prefer.
Aside from the size issues, they're alright. I like that they're organic (that, bein 4-8-4 ply, and the fact that I could order these from Amazon were the big selling points for me). They're easy to launder. They aren't too rough. Absorbency is fine. Naturally they aren't as absorbent as disposables, but I prefer changing diapers regularly anyhow for sanitary reasons. One cool thing about these is that doeble-diapering an infant size within a baby size and folding the excess length over works nicely. It's also nice that you can repurpose prefolds as a variety of things: burb cloths, changing pads, something to soak up leaking breast milk, doublers, and something to place under a baby when practicing elimination communication. What upsets me is that no where on Amazon.com or Bummis website could you find the actual dimensions of the prefolds. I was stupid to believe the indicated weight range they list. Fool me once, shame on them, but the second time I should have known better. I wish I would have ordered from Green Mountain Diapers instead (they list their dimensions and seem to have a good reputation). Now I'll have to, but I wound up wasting time and money this way.

Prefolds rule Mar 12, 2010

With 5 children and 3 currently in diapers, I have tried a number of AIO's and homemade jobbies. I still think the prefolds are much more versatile and do just as good a job if not the best. These organic prefolds are unbleached, hold up well and are a great price.

Great Buy Dec 01, 2010
By Vanessa I bought these because they were organic and inexpensive. I also bought the G- diaper inserts, a organic hemp diaper prefold and some organic Cover Your Clovers organic velour diaper prefolds. I have been cloth diapering since 1996 with my first son. Of all the cloth diapers I have used the Bummis organic prefolds are impressive for 3 reasons. First and formost they hold a lot of liquid. Second they are soft and fluff up even with many washings and third the smallest size which I started with still fits nicely in my babies diaper covers size small and now size medium. Simply a great buy when you look at what you get for your money. Note: They do dry faster than some diapers in the dryer but because of their absorbency they will take a day to hang dry unless you are in a very dry climate. If you are looking for the ultimate overnight diaper the Velour Cover your Clovers can not be beat.( These diapers I use for my older bed wetter and when wet they still seem to wick moisture away from babies skin-they are thick thick thick though!) Overall though the Bummis I reach for when I diaper my son during the day and you know when you reach for one kind of diaper consistently thats the one to get a collection of! Happy Diapering!

Great Organic Prefolds Apr 25, 2010
By Holly M. Eager I really like these diapers. I have used other prefolds that were not as thick and not as nice. I like the fact that they have ample growing room for my son who is almost 20lbs and using the medium size. I also like that they are unbleached and organic. They plump up nicely after a few washes, and stay soft. I like using these with a snappi or pins, both work great. The mediums work perfectly with the medium size Bummis Super Whisper Wrap covers.

Soft and absorbent Apr 15, 2010
By BSN student A lot of people on the web rave about GMD prefolds, but I actually prefer these. They're a little more expensive, but they are softer and more generously sized. They are a little bit big on my 18 lb daughter, but she will grow into them...
On a side note, try the Bummis Super Brite covers.
