5Easy to use and clean!  Apr 11, 2011
By Lizhar
My daughter just loves these sippys. I know that other reviewers complain that they leak when tipped upside down, but that's because they don't have an additional valve in the straw. I prefer this because it makes the sippy easier to use and it doesn't require an enormous amount of suction. My one gripe is that they don't have handles, but I'm willing to live with considering all the other benefits of using this cup!

5NOT made in China sippy cup  Jul 14, 2010
By MC
We are very pleased with the sippy cup. While the cup leaks (when turned upside down), it is usually pretty good as our child tosses it around. This was the only straw cup I could find that was not made in China. It's a tad bit more than other straw sippy cups but it's worth the peace of mind for us.

5Does Not Leak  Jun 10, 2011
By Ladera Mom
I have read some of the reviews and I want to clear up any misconceptions about this product.

1.) It does not leak! IF you twist the plastic sheild all the way over so that the straw is bent...it does not leak. I throw mine around in my diaper bag all the time, not a leak yet.
2.) The plastic shield pops off and / or the plastic shield is hard to align. Read the instructions people! It is supposed to come off for cleaning. You need to align the notch on the cup with the notch on the shield to take off and put back on. If not done properly I can see how it would pop off or be hard to align.

My daughter has used this cup everyday since she was 9 months old. It is by far her favorite.

1Cheap China Crap  May 23, 2012
By thisisjunk
These are made in China now, unlike the ones I purchased a year ago for my older child. They feel like different material and look cheap. I will not buy from Born Free again.

4Great cup but...  Jul 20, 2011
By Kitnknit
My 3 1/2 y/o seems to drink more water with this cup and once we left it at a friends house and they said their six year old LOVED to drink out of it. You can twist the top to keep the straw clean and from leaking when traveling. Holds a good amount of water for a little kid. 4 year olds are supposed to drink 4 cups of water a day so you figure 2 these a day and you are doing pretty well.
I like the Born Free brand and this is a great cup except for one thing. The top is a 2 piece part and it is nearly impossible for me to get them apart to clean properly. Water can get stuck in there if you don't pull them apart and my husband has to pry it off for me. The instructions make it sound like it's so easy to pop right off but that isn't my experience. I needed a butter knife to pry it off and that doesn't even work every time for me. This is why I don't buy one or 2 more for the house and grandma's. Major flaw in a would-be perfect cup.

UPDATE:
I've had it for several months now and I have figured out an easier way to get the clear top off for washing. You simply twist the clear dome backward on the straw and bc it's going the wrong way against the straw that helps it to pop off. This may also be easier bc we had to use a butter knife to pry if off a few times and now maybe it's a tad loosened? Still annoying but workable now.
